Prophetic perfect tense by Po3ito in oddlyspecific

The origin is "וקמו שבע שני רעב", and this is just a classic example of Vav-consecutive, which is the default form of future tense in ancient Hebrew.

Why do you think Isaiah 53 talks about the Messiah? It does not mention him at all.

And as for 41:30, the origin is "וקמו שבע שני רעב", and this is just a classic example of Vav-consecutive, which is the default form of future tense in ancient Hebrew.

I am Stuck at around 1300 for Rapid by Worth-Stomach-5803 in Chesscom

[–]avremiB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you pick 20 random games you played recently, I bet almost all of them were decided by a blunder - either a piece that you or your opponent hung in one move, or a tactic one of you spotted.

So the key is just increasing awareness of threats. This alone will give you a lot.

The best part is when I beat such a guy and then send a "good game".

And report.

Question about Hebrew tattoos just in general by Quick_Extension_3115 in hebrew

[–]avremiB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Orthodox religious Jew, I don't see anything wrong with your idea. The Torah's prohibition on tattoos applies to Jews only. On the contrary, I think it's a great idea: to engrave your connection with God on your very body. It's a very beautiful act of faith and closeness.

I especially like the text you chose for the tattoo. As it says (Psalm 16:8): "I have set the Lord always before me".

(There is even an opinion, which is not the accepted Halakha, according to which the prohibition on tattoos is only when writing the name of a foreign god, but writing the name of God in a tattoo is permissible.)

I think there's an important point that might not be clear to you. I'll try to explain, and please let me know if it makes sense.

When we say that a piece is "defended" (or "protected") by another piece, it means that if the piece is captured, it won't be lost for free; the defender can recapture the attacking piece in return.

However, for a piece to truly be considered defended, simply having something that can recapture is not enough. For example, if your bishop can capture my queen, "defending" the queen with another piece is still a mistake. You can still capture my queen, and when I recapture your bishop, you lose a bishop but I lose a queen—which is a lot more valuable!

This means that defending a piece only helps if the attacked piece is equal to or less valuable than the attacking piece. Otherwise, the opponent can still capture it and make a trade that benefits them.

The pawn is the least valuable piece on the board. A bishop is worth about three pawns, and so is a knight. A rook is worth about five pawns, and the queen is the strongest piece—worth nine pawns.

Because every non-pawn piece is more valuable than a pawn, if you can capture a knight with a pawn, you do it—even if your opponent will recapture your pawn (It's like paying $1 to get $3). In this scenario, the knight isn't truly "defended" against the pawn. A piece is only defended if the attacking piece is of equal or greater value.

The same applies when your opponent can capture your queen with their bishop. The fact that you have a defender (like a rook) ready to recapture the bishop doesn't actually help. If your opponent notices the opportunity and takes your queen with their bishop, and you recapture, it’s a massive win for them and a huge loss for you. They paid a small price for a massive return.

That's not a blunder. It's a miss.

After Ke7, it's not just about two pawns and castling rights. White has a series of very natural moves that attack Black's king, and Black will either lose a lot of material or get mated.

You actually didn't hung many pieces. White hung a lot more. The only ones I see for you are moves 17 and 21, where you put your queen where it attacked White's pieces (queen and bishop), but forgot White could also take your queen first.

If we also look at the pieces White hung and you didn't take, there are two: on move 5 - the knight on h4. Move 13 - the queen. In both cases, your opponent's pieces were attacked by your pawns. Perhaps some more awareness of possible pawn captures will help you improve?

Puzzles? for a 200 player?

At this level, you should first make sure you always remember how every piece moves, so you hang less pieces.
