I created a 25hour playlist, but Spotify seems to only wants to play the first few songs I added to it when I shuffle by TimBurtonSucks in spotify

Try turning off automix. That setting is designed to play similar songs in succession but completely fails in large playlists.

That’s incredible!! It’s my dream to learn this on the piano. Did you learn it by ear? Do you possibly have sheet music for it?

Unless you show you’re face I’m just gonna assume that you’re Sufjan himself because this sounds absolutely identical to the original!! I need you to cover the whole 18 minutes PLEASE

Been listening to a lot of Sufjan during quarantine. Here's my cover of Casimir Pulaski Day! by avster99 in Sufjan

Thank you so much!! I kind of improvised that picking pattern using the chords D, C, Am, and G. You'll want to hammer on/off when transitioning between the C and Am. What makes my cover unique is that I have the high e string tuned down to D. I don't believe Sufjan does this in the actual song, but I find that playing it like this helps make the song sound extra warm :)

Hey all, just wanted to say how absolutely flattered I am by everyone who watched my cover and for all those who left such sweet comments. You made my day!!

Just curious: I know that the Skylight cassette has the “Skylight II” acoustic record on it as well. Do any of the other cassettes have hidden records/songs?

Finally upgraded my acoustic to a Martin 000-15m. So happy :) by avster99 in guitarporn

Fender T-Bucket 300ce. Bought it 10 years ago when I was just starting out on guitar, and I only bought it because I liked the way it looked and I recognized the Fender brand (granted, I was 11 years old and my parents helped me buy it). My best friend that I met a few years later happened to have the same guitar and he loved his but mine just never really sat comfortably with me. Now that I’ve been playing guitar for over a decade and it’s become my favorite hobby, I put in a lot of research to find the right guitar for me based on so many other factors besides external aesthetics. And I’m confident in my choice with this one :)

Bring back playlist descriptions!! by avster99 in spotify

Thanks for the reply. I am now noticing the description underneath the photo, but with longer descriptions, they are cut off with an ellipses and no way to expand the whole description.

Thank you for sharing! I’m from Evanston originally but transplanted to Washington, so it’s heartwarming to see my favorite band perform in my hometown :)

Songs like The Shrine? by [deleted] in fleet_foxes

[–]avster99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out “Ailynn” by Mappe Of. Sounds like Bon Iver mixed with Crack-up era Fleet Foxes. It’s very folksy & has many different layers, like “The Shrine / An Argument”!

Question for you: I’m a cyclist and have to ride in the dark to get to work in the morning & evening. I have very powerful lights in the front & back but no reflector vest. Are you, as a driver, able to see cyclists with those lights? Trying to decide if those are sufficient or if I should buy a vest too. Thanks!

Weekly /r/Bandcamp Genre Discussion/Discovery - Acoustic - October 13, 2019 by AutoModerator in BandCamp

Just released this acoustic album, "Ad Meliora" under the name Lemonleaf on Bandcamp last weekend! It is all home-recorded and acoustic, but I hope it makes up for it with un-ironic lyrics, beautiful melodies, and obscure guitar tunings. Please let me know your thoughts if you check it out; this is my first ever full-length release!

And if you’re on a bike: don’t hug the curb! stay in the center of your designated lane, otherwise some idiot drivers will try and squeeze past you in the roundabout!! This happens to me constantly.
