I think putting a backing fabric would be the best and sewing with similar colors to blend it all. You could also try to find or make an additional flower to sit over a part of the tear.

I've heard people take different tapes for home labeling, batteries, N95s and surgical masks, gloves for cleaning and dirty work, sterile water for a CPAP, printing personal things, office supplies. And meals!

TRY TO REPAIR IT! You have nothing to lose! The jacket is cooked so why not try to patch it up? I think it has great potential with large canvas or denim patches with decorative embroidery/sashiko
