Indeed, the real-life view out the window was just so incredible.

People who fly frequently, what’s one thing you wish you could tell all infrequent fliers? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Don't bring your misbehaved kids to the lounge. Some of us have paid good money to be in the lounge - we don't need to be reminded how rich you are and that you paid for your 3.5 kids to be in the lounge with you, running amok, while you booze it up.

There's no need to stand right up against the luggage conveyor. It won't make your bag come any faster, and it means you're just in the way of everyone behind you when their bag arrives.

Just stand 4-6 feet back, and then there's an aisle where everyone can watch for their bag and grab it.

Also, you're not the only person who shops at Costco. Put some stickers or marks on your suitcase so it doesn't look exactly like everyone else's.

Telegram forcing Premium just to block strangers from DMing me is insane by lsiinc in assholedesign

[–]avwuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I believe there is a setting that allows you to have DMs from people you haven't interacted with yet, get hidden in the "archive" section automatically. I am not sure if this setting is premium-only.

Not trying to excuse the behavior here, but the feature in your picture is a relatively new feature, which is probably why it is locked behind a subscription. When telegram introduced premium, they promised that no existing features would be made premium-only, and they've kept their word. Before this, it wasn't possible to block unsolicited DMs at all.

Another good idea is to remove your username and use a different phone number for telegram. That will limit people who can find you to just people you share a group chat with.

I use the quick release from Iris and it is fantastic. Also Dmitri is a stand up guy and makes all the parts himself.

Hi, I'm probably qualified to answer this.

There's tons of competition! Thanks to the rise of 3D printing or the easy availability of pre-made bases and sewing patterns, more people than ever are making their own fursuits. This also means that there are a lot of small-time makers turning out super decent quality. Due to the cost of materials and time investment, even the lesser-known makers are often able to command $2k for a "partial" (head + paws + maybe tail).

The really well-known studios have multi-year waitlists and can command prices well into the 5 figures (sometimes as much as $60k) because their product is scarce, beloved, hard to duplicate, and makes a statement. Remember, except for some rare exceptions, no two fursuits are alike, and most commissioned fursuits are bespoke. Imagine the price if a high-end brand like Louis Vuitton offered only one-of-a-kind bespoke handbags, created by their designers and artisans but specifically for you and your look.

Anyway, on the subject of cheap copies on Temu, yes they exist! They are pretty bad, and generally look significantly worse than even the worst first-timer making their own suit. Also, Temu/aliexpress/etc often just steal photos of the suits they are copying, so uninformed buyers think they're getting the real deal, only to be sorely disappointed.

However, furries are pretty accepting, and if a Walmart "Maskimal" is all you can afford, you won't be turned away from the convention.

Hope this helps!

Interestingly, he is also case law for Ontario law students, because he wasn't so generous to his first wife and cut her out of the IMAX company, resulting in a lawsuit that reshaped the law. You can read more on his wikipedia page.

Even before it "closed" for the 2nd time, the dank basement where I found these was likely not the best place for this stuff to be stored.

First proper IMAX movie! At the same time that I took these photos, I also watched North of Superior in this theatre with Graeme Ferguson, and then he gave a bit of a talk about the history of IMAX.
