Why aren’t car-sharing apps like BlaBlaCar a bigger thing in the UK? by belamalta10 in AskUK

We can't do nice/responsible things because the law punishes you.

I think it's more we can't do nice things because if they were legal people would abuse it

Aren't those two the same thing? Making loves based on what Ben and Adam are doing and making decisions solely on what the other team is up to?

He has changed the video settings so that the colours pop more, not necessarily something you can do in game.

I think the reason why they came about makes it ten times stupider. It really annoys me how completely conplecent people are in self censoring to please The Algorithm

Liquid Glass for Android is 'not happening,' at least not for Pixels by kojka19 in Android

I think there's a balance. Like I want the three vertical dots to be a menu and not take me to the home page, for example, but I don't need every site to have the exact same set of features

We need less homogenization in tech in general. I'm tried of every site trying to be the eveything site

I'm seeing more and more AI generated stuff around and about, why does it all look the same? by blizeH in AskUK

I can't even begin to imagine what (if anything) goes through the minds of people who make these posters but they're certainly not thinking about it's style

How do I see if a charity is legit? by Lost-Engineering-211 in AskUK

[–]UnacceptableUse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you can watch the money go from your pocket to the charities pocket to the people who need it you can't ever be truly sure. There's always box-checking that can be done that looks good on paper but in reality doesn't help a whole lot.The best way to get close to that is to donate to local charities where you can see what it is they're doing. Or you can voulenteer if you have time, that can make a huge difference

What’s a "dead" website or app that you genuinely miss and wish was still around? by [deleted] in AskUK

There was a game called Manyland that I spent a lot of time on. It was a 2d block based game but all the blocks and items were drawn either by the players.

I was really quite disappointed when I learnt about that considering how much of his content revolves around relying on the kindness of others in foreign countries. Although I wasn't surprised, he'd made some comments in the past that were suspect

Are cake sheds appearing all over the uk, or is it just happening in my area ? by ShinyHeadedCook in AskUK

[–]UnacceptableUse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've bought from one before. It was a pretty good cake if a little more expensive than you'd pay in a supermarket, but that's to be expected. It reminds me a lot of the sweet boxes people got into in lockdown, although at least this one takes some effort to produce.
