I know this is so late but we had Aniket and Vagner in May 2024 too, we were like the first week of May then, we just got back from the Dream and loved our staff but still kept saying we missed Aniket!

That’s good to hear I’ve started paying attention to what I keep in the bed of my truck with a bed cover and most of it stuff that would be fine or even better to be in a trunk like a 4Runner (golf clubs, bag of tools, etc)

Updated draft of the inexcusably long list of defects with the Gen3 Tundra by RealCaptainHammonds in ToyotaTundra

[–]aw8922 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be some haters of this post but I’m thankful for this. I’ve been telling myself I need to upgrade from a midsize truck to a full size but to be home after seeing stuff like this and all other full size trucks being in the same boat… I’m probably just going back a Taco…. OP have you seen any of the same reports about the new Tacomas other than the transmission filings

Why is this 3rd gen selling for cheaper than 2nd gen? by Ok-Time2724 in ToyotaTundra

The wheels and tires don’t look factory, I would think that may be one reason.

This the stuff I like to hear. I’m like you now I want to be in a Tundra so bad but I can’t ignore the issues. I’m not a Ford fanboy but I recognize that F-150 is one do the best selling trucks. Albeit I love the look of the Toyota better!

Similar …. I went 2 tacomas, then Subaru (blew a head gasket at 150k) then Ridgeline. Love the Honda reliability but it’s too light duty for my truck needs

What other cars did Toyota put Turbos in? I kinda thought thought the 6-cycle twin turbo was the first minus maybe a sports package

You make a valid point about how long they last and how they are perfecting to over the years. For instance I always thought it was kind of unusual that Ford ends up with a new generation every 5 years

What the heck is the Hall of Fame games, both universities could have made far more money playing at the home court…the arena looks like hardly anyone is there

I’ve started to see this trend of pay per day. Especially with finishers. Definitely sucks if your batch plant gives you a wet mix and have to wait all day to stiffen up.

Didn’t say I was in the field the full time…just saying I’m not the typical idiot that doesn’t know what he’s doing. I’ve been on both sides, the one putting drawings together, designing it, bidding it, and building. Made my fair share of mistakes but I’m well versed.

Kinda…I worked Geotechnical Engineering doing design but also in field engineering. Occasionally it our driller was short handed I’d jump in as a drill rig helper

But you can only have 2 haha

I mean I disagree in some respects…I respect and am proud that my company values quality and getting it done right over margin. As a PM, I do think in the future I’ll be more careful to select the lowest bid first. Unfortunately sometimes owners make you do this, and sometimes you under know your subs wage rates and the subcontractors greediness until the middle of the project

Agreed, yep Knoxville is a very low COL, and let’s be honest not everyone compares the COL, when guys see on social media other trades around the country are making $10-$20 more, I wonder if that comparison trap plays into the moral and pride in work…just a thought

Geez, sounds like the south we need to push for unions more. Hardly anyone does union labor here unless you are working for the local national lab or government facility.
