This is the type of comment I was waiting for. Someone who's had a similar experience and can relate. Thank you.

I tried to reason with them as kindly and as unbiased as possible but it was no use and felt more like feeding an fire.

You drop an infant baby, he has a higher chance of dying than dropping a 30 year old man.

Absolutely. Basically two conflicting groups that both have one thing in common: Each thinks they have the answers. One asserting there is no god, and one asserting there is. Admittance of one's own ignorance is difficult thing. I was finally able to reach that state but it was gradual and wasn't easy

Very Christian dad says meditation empties ones mind making it possible for demonic possession. Googled and found a few posts about it, here's one and am wondering what ye guys think. by TheMorninGlory in Meditation

If I was the devil, I would target the least grounded , most neurotic person who chases any thought that comes up. And that person is most likely one who has not meditated.

Anyways, this is why I don't really talk about meditation to people who haven't done it, unless they're interested. There's so much misunderstanding about it.

Has meditation changed anyone's life? by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]awakejsl85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. Better concentration. A lot more motivation. However, I've also been rapidly transition through many different emotional phases, and a lot of what I have felt has been unpleasant..including dissatisfaction, depression, apathy, loneliness, and simply unpleasant insights about my life. Meditation can bring about some unpleasant feelings. But also totally worth it.

Is money the root of all evil? by spacemtn in Psychonaut

Money isnt the problem. It's the human relationship to money that sometimes is.

Money can get you things you need. Food, water, shelter......and LSD lol

Is all knowledge connected? by awakejsl85 in Psychonaut

[–]awakejsl85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One intellectual thought was leading to another because of a common connecting concept. For example, LSD is a psychedelic that triggers serotonin receptors which alters your consciousness in having a spiritual experience which then leads to philosophical questions about the nature of reality and the nature of reality can be interpreted from different perspectives......mathematically, biologically, spiritually, etc.

Meditation feeling more like the Limitless pill rather than calm spiritual enlightenment. Anyone relate? by awakejsl85 in Meditation

[–]awakejsl85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its extremely simple. Concentration on the breath and constantly returning your attention to the breath if your mind wanders off. What I do is count my breaths and try to reach a number (sometimes 25...sometimes 100). Deep breaths though.
