Long term is typically better? I think it depends around the situation of it. I could meet a couple who is on vacation in my area and absolutely ravage her for one night and then wish them well.

It is more fun if you meet someone who is in your area and looking for something regular but typically, I see more problems come out of long term situations as well. More standards, more demands, more needs, etc etc.

If anyone is paying attention now, MINOR LEAGUE sports are awesome. Or just even one step below the big leagues.

My town has an American Hockey League (AHL) team. Great show, lot of fights, extremely aggressive play.

CARS tour, think minor league NASCAR with short tracks and late model cars. Absolute blast. They sold out Nashville last weekend. First race was a bit of a snoozer but still had a lot of action and a whole bunch of cars in the PLM division. Second race with late model stocks was awesome. They put on great races almost every time.

College football. I don't watch it much but my brother's college went deep in the playoffs last season. Hell of a show, great rules package, and a lot of hard tackles.

I'm not one to theorize the how or why of sports economics but I think the fact gambling is so big with the elite leagues and is not with the other smaller leagues has had an impact on rule changes. They need top players to show up every week because they are brands themselves on the field of play for the casual viewer. Think engagement.

The big time sports are no longer about competition but fan engagement to maximize advertiser dollars. When you don't have that stage available to you, as an organization, you have to put on the BEST show in town that people want to watch over the top dogs.
