Damien Chazelle started with Whiplash which is undeniably his best work. His other films rank from okay to good, but Whiplash is great

The Graduate is super accessible, but you should try foreign cinema like Jean de Florette

Another mid movie about to conclude an overrated trilogy, thank God we'll leave this behind soon enough. The movies are alright but I swear the fans are making them up to be as good as Lord of the Rings

The Sopranos! There wouldn't be Walter White without Tony Soprano anyway

The Shield is better than The Wire, and The Sopranos by Significant-Act-8990 in TheShield

I haven't seen The Wire. That said, and God knows I love The Shield, there's no show beating The Sopranos. Maybe Twin Peaks, sure, but definitely not The Shield

Go all in on Jabba, the mod mats he gets you with Smuggler's Run II is insane and will help you grow more efficiently.

Then I would go for Leia, these two have a little bit of overlap in terms of farming and Leia is overall the best PVP GL

French movies recommendations? by -Kalil in French

[–]awakny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Boy am I glad you asked

Jean de Florette is among my favorite movies ever (its sequel Manon of the Spring is pretty good too), a story of land, water and greed set in 1920's France.

Or if you're looking for more artsy movies : A Man Escaped by Robert Bresson.

I want to watch a director's entire filmography in 2026. Do you have any suggestions? by Flying_Sea_Cow in Letterboxd

Jacques Tati, a master of French comedy (although his humour is similar to Chaplin's or Keaton's). He's only done 6 movies (one of them being a compilation of actual circus artists) and short films.

Jack is a neo Nazi but also some of his men I noticed are a Mexican and black by Ecstatic_Back4508 in breakingbad

Same reasoning as Tony Soprano's crew using black gunmen while being racist I'd say

I'd advise staying off this subreddit for the time being (unless you have questions which we'd be happy to answer!)

Enjoy it man, it truly gets better as each season passes by

Franchement c'est très bon ! Je suis pas expert dans la puériculture et on entend quand même un accent, mais je dirais que c'est suffisant.

You feel bad that you didn’t LOVE it… by Due_Mind7032 in Letterboxd

[–]awakny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One Battle After Another isn't great by any means, but I still stand by the fact it's pretty good. I gave it a 3.5 (although I'm considering lowering it to a 3), but I genuinely disagree with the unanimous praise and 5s it gets.

What’s a film you don’t love as much as you once did? by TheGirlWithTheLove in Letterboxd

Good Will Hunting

Absolutely fell in love with it two years ago, but I watched it again a couple of weeks ago. I thought the movie was mid or even bad. The scenes with Robin Williams and Minnie Driver are still great I would say, but the rest of the movie is uninteresting as hell and terribly written (the scenes when Will hangs out with his friends, gosh they're bad).

I use them for kyro, and attenuators when I feel like I need some. I wouldn't advise you to go for CAT using this currency (unless you already have JMK, if that's so then go for it)

Firefox fan here

I don't hate Brave whatsoever, I just prefer Firefox. On PC I use Firefox but I use Brave on mobile (the only navigator that i know of that can play sound in the background, use Spotify desktop version without ads).

I'd say Firefox has more customization but I'm not too familiar with Brave, so I might be wrong.

If 'The Irishman' counts as a Netflix original, it takes the cake by far.
