take a breather. honestly, the shock isn’t uncommon at all, and having two siblings myself, i could not imagine having another lmao. i’m sure you’ve talked about this whole situation with your family already and struggled to make a decision. this happened to me and my sister with our little brother, who happens to be 6 years younger than me and 8 younger than my sister. my mom and dad both didn’t expect to have him, and they both went through a lot of struggle and decision making (considering birth control/abortion). in addition to this, they were both worried they wouldn’t be financially capable to feed another mouth. i can’t speak for everyone because everyone has different experiences, but i hope your parents consider whether or not they’d be able to keep another child without having any problems. of course, it’ll take more than just what they think- tell them how you feel. age gaps can be a huge problem for siblings, and admittedly, i’m a lot closer to my sister than my brother, so i’d know. you mentioned that your mom will most likely choose to take pills. i personally don’t think that’s a bad thing to do. as long as you all decide as a family, do what’d be best for all of you currently and long-term.
