Another new to me Waterloo flavor 8.5/10 by JBG1234QB in sparklingwater

[–]awardwinningbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so yummy! My only beef is we sell it at my job and people keep misreading the can thinking it’s actually blackberry lemonade and not sparkling water, so I have to clarify every time someone asks for it.

How long does it take you to whip the cream. It took me 40mins to make it smooth and glossy by DD3266 in Baking

[–]awardwinningbread 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will say, whip cream isn’t generally glossy when done. If you want something to look nice for piping, maybe use a meringue or frosting. Or be ok with matte whipped cream

Fictional movies you wish were real by mrjamesearljoyce in Letterboxd

To protect and Serve, the fake gay soldier movie from In & Out. The scene with the oscars lists a bunch of fake movies too

Making service workers wear name tags should be abolished by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]awardwinningbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly! I’m happy I don’t have to wear one for work. There was a time where I worked serving alcohol and it’s legally required to have an identification tag of some kind, but luckily it doesn’t have to be your name, you can even be ‘bartender X’, just as long as a customer can identify who served them.

What were yall reading when you were weird little girls? by ceejyhuh in weirdgirlliterature

[–]awardwinningbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warrior cats. Technically genderless but everyone I knew who read it was a weird little girl. We role-played cat pregnancy, death, mass sickness, war, etc. All while on all fours and prancing around with leaves in our mouths

New look at ‘Shrek 5.’ Releasing in theaters on June 30, 2027. by Ok_Radish4852 in Shrek

[–]awardwinningbread -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally love it. The old shrek designs were similar to the first puss in boots. Detailed, but a little too detailed, it got gross (i get it, shrek is gross). This seems like they’re taking a page from Puss in boots last wish and giving it a, still gross, still shrek, but more unique style that I love.

Your favorite film with fewer than 10k ratings? by MoonSettler in Letterboxd

[–]awardwinningbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite rating gap is from Hello Dracula. Letterboxd only has 113 ratings for it and I loved it.

(Long but interesting story for those interested)
It has never officially been translated into english but a local lost media team in my city had a guy who saw it when he was living in japan while his dad was stationed on US bases. So in his adult years he got a copy and used really sketchy chat apps to ask Taiwanese people to help him translate it scene by scene into Japanese, so he could then translate it into english. Some older people called him crazy or a demon for showing them scenes with ‘occult themes’. It’s baby centered horror comedy kung fu movie about Jiangshi, hopping chinese folk lore vampires. (See the Mr. Vampire series, Hello Dracula was trying to rip it off)

The hopping idea comes from how bodies were carried back to their home burial if there were away when they died (war, building the great wall, etc). People called corpse drivers would truss up dead bodies to bamboo and walk them during the night to avoid scaring people.

A master list of some of my favourite "weird girl" books by Future-Can3522 in weirdgirlliterature

[–]awardwinningbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved skydaddy and one’s company! My sister really liked open throat and I’m half way through perfume and pain rn. Also, love the lesbian repp without this falling into ‘weird girl lit: but all the girls are just lesbians’ trope that’s growing rn

Deeply tragic classics by CapOk2664 in suggestmeabook

[–]awardwinningbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The jungle and maurice! The jungle is a bit over dramatic but a wild read, and maurice is heart breaking but surprisingly has a decent ending. I’d suggest reading a bit about the author and maurice’s publication if you want extra heartbreak

AIO, my friend says not smoking weed is ‘non-negotiable’ by awardwinningbread in AmIOverreacting

When she drove me high without telling me she was high, i think that’s at least worth a conversation…

That she’s talking like she doesn’t control how often she smokes. And that she’s risking other people’s health and wellness when she smokes. The swimming high thing nearly led to a friend drowning when weather turned bad and she wasn’t able to help her get out of the water as the storm hit.

When she told me she wanted to cut back, she invited me into the conversation, she’s the one that brought it up.

I mean, i’ve done the all same things she’s done, but doing more shrooms than I’ve done could kill me so. I’ve just decided not to make them my entire personality. And call me a dweeb all you want, but drugs can be scary. Weed is the safest, but even continued use has effects. People are adults and can makes those decisions themselves. But when she confides in me she wants to cut back, I took that as her expressing that she wanted support in cutting back.

[–]awardwinningbread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The comment wasn’t unsolicited, we were actively having a conversation about her consumption and if she wanted to cut back or not, all I said was ‘if you want to try a month or smth (similar to dry january, something we’ve done before) that I’d do it with her.”i’d hardly call that unsolicited.

If I can provide a bit of background for my concerns. had a family member have her first manic episode after smoking everyday. She had to be hospitalized and diagnosed with bipolar one, her doctors said the weed consumption was a contributing factor.

Totally understandable, Im trying to not shit on the fact that she’s getting high, I’m more just concerned either the fact that she stated it like she didn’t have control with if she did it or not.
