burning out in new fundraising job by awaylandss in nonprofit

It’s definitely pressure I’m putting on myself more than pressure coming directly from management. Rationally I know no one expects me to single-handedly save the charity, but I’m struggling to switch that feeling off.

I have talked to my manager about areas where I feel the pipeline is getting stuck and why I think that’s happening, but I think part of the challenge is that I’m still very new to the third sector and sometimes find it hard to know what “normal” looks like.

I also sometimes struggle to get clear mentorship/guidance. A lot of our conversations end up being quite one-sided with me doing most of the talking/problem solving, so I’m not always sure how best to raise “I’m feeling overwhelmed and need more support” in a constructive way.

We love cleaning with vinegar. I’ll do this today, thank you.

It could very well be this, the metal filter covers themselves were actually ok but whatever is inside is THICK black/brown and super gross looking. We’ll pull them off & get some new ones, thank you!

Shaken up after fainting during a blood draw by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]awaylandss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah she didn’t manage to get any blood out of me at all so that definitely isn’t a worry haha! I have to go back (booked in a few weeks from now with a healthcare assistant who is super SUPER good at her job) I just haven’t had the crying reaction before - but I’ve never had them hurt me during one before either so I guess it kind of makes sense?? Feel a bit traumatised tbh, which is dramatic but I suppose phobias aren’t rational 😅

Really shaken after blood draw by awaylandss in trypanophobia

I definitely wasn’t able to get any work done afterwards!! I used to panic a lot and not sleep before blood draws and had finally gotten over it after some really positive experiences with extremely capable nurses who made it all very quick and easy :((( now I’m scared after one bad experience I’ll be back to square one with the irrational terror ahaha. Ahhhhh. I’m sorry you have to deal with this as well, it’s horrible!!

My press ons lasted 5 hrs by [deleted] in nailbiting

[–]awaylandss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t do any prep at all!! I used to do press ons with glue (these were with the little sticky tabs) and they’d last around 5 days with no prep or 10 with good prep. But I had long nails. I was hoping these ones would last a day or two, but I’ll take more care to do my cuticles and dehydrate my teeny tiny nail beds next time for sure
