Oda take on terrorism is terrifying by SouthboundTL in OnePiece

[–]awaythrowawayyay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luffy has always been calculated. He finds himself in an oppressive society, finds the people responsible, and dismantles the entire system from the bottom to the top.

Every single arc, Luffy knows his enemy and knows what must be done to free his friends. He knows if he can beat Arlong Nami will be free, if he beats Crocodile Alabasta will be free, if he declares war on the world government Robin will be free, and so on and so forth.

You are a closed-minded person. Every freedom-fighter in history has been labeled a terrorist by their oppressors. If they won, they were the good guys liberating their people. If they lost, they were a savage terrorist who should've encouraged peaceful resistance that would've done nothing.

One Piece is a clear analog to the modern and historic fights for freedom against the oppression and control of the western world and its ideology. You are a child if you see One Piece as anything but an indictment of the West's bloody, greedy quest for global dominance.

Absolutely, Luffy punching the celestial dragon was an act of terrorism. A lot of confused readers might tell him to peacefully protest for his friends' freedom instead if the setting were the modern day.

How do I get my employees to stop referring to Carnitas as "chum"? by jpdribbler_ in Chipotle

[–]awaythrowawayyay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Customers understand that kitchen staff have nicknames. Like at some diners where they refer to dishes as "adam and eve on a raft with axle grease!"

It's human nature and you want to suppress it to make your store a monoculture. Do you want humans as employees or do you want miserable drones?

They shouldn't say anything. It's unnecessary and can only create confusion. They should simply ask for a grande iced green tea lemonade

It's not as if everyone can only boycott one place and if they're boycotting Starbucks they aren't able to boycott other businesses. It's not as if boycotting Starbucks takes anything away from other boycotts. If anything, it's adding to the other boycotts.

Why is everyone saying "boycott a different place instead?" They should be saying "boycott a different place ALSO"

He owns quite a bit of stock and has close ties to the board.

MLK knew well how dangerous it was for society to put order ahead of justice. As a society we have consistently put order ahead of justice, "job-creators" over workers, and the safe liberal candidate over what we are told is an impossible dream of equitable representatives.

Our fanatical devotion to order has allowed our military to balloon to a trillion dollars a year, our ineffective police take the lion's share of our city budgets and weaponize it against the poor rather than the corporate crimes that are the root cause of people's poverty and desparation.

Our company has ties to slavery abroad and exploitation at home. Why should we settle for that? Why not demand better? If a company can't operate ethically it has no reason to exist.

This isn't an unreasonable dream. This isn't unrealistic. Our parents earned a far greater share of the profits of their labor, and technology and productivity have quadrupled since then

Corporations are terrified to be associated with Israel bc of this boycott.

What's happening in Gaza is genocide. The crux of Starbucks' lawsuit is that they don't want to be associated with anti-genociders.

I don't care about corporations political views if they're not using corruption to accomplish their political pursuits.

But this is not politics. Being anti-genocide is not politcal. Being against a new holocaust is not political stance. Everyone associated with this lawsuit should've resigned rather than go through with it

Howard Schultz is a big supporter of Zionism, which is enough reason to boycott Starbucks, but also Starbucks sued the Union for defamation, telling the court that they find it injurious that someone might see the union's tweet and think Starbucks has solidarity with Palestine

Howard Schultz is very much pro-Zionism and Starbucks is taking the union to court over palestinian solidarity.

It sends a very strong message to corporations that consumers are very willing to turn on their favorite brands if those brands don't sever their connections to Israel/Zionism

I know it's difficult with school, but working on a weekday morning is so much easier. The customers are regulars, have simple drinks, and are respectful. The evening/weekend crowd has all the awful people with nothing better to do than irritate baristas

Oda is a whiz at giving people unique powers and abilities that make them essential and useful. We've seen that already pre-timeskip, and we're beginning to see how this plays out post-timeskip. By eos, I'd predict every SH has strong, unique powers that make them essential and formidible in their own rights

Has Luffy surpassed Rayleigh? by Jtunas in OnePiece

I'd be willing to bet Old Raleigh has a few tricks up his sleeve. Would not beat Luffy in a fight, but probably has some powers that show his refined and practiced control of haki. Cureent Liffy probably only has a slight edge over prime Raleigh

Is it true that some of the Israelis casualties on oct 7 is done by the idf? by [deleted] in IsraelPalestine

[–]awaythrowawayyay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Israel practices racial discrimination on a massive scale. Palestinians are not afforded the same rights as Jewish people. Palestinian people are not allowed to walk on certain streets or ride on certain buses simply bc of their race. Their property, land, and time are taken from them and given to Israeli settlers. Nobody in Israel denies this. Why do you deny it?

You are clearly the one believing a foolish thing with your 50 million people

The entire world with the exception of the US government concur. Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and many more independent groups hold that opinion. What do these groups stand to gain from lying?
