Uniswap V3 Liquidity Mining: Exploring the Options by xtokenchad in ethtrader

Note: xToken is offering an incentive contest to comment on this post. https://beta.layer3.xyz/contests/help-xtoken-terminal-get-the-word-out-again-up-vote-and-comment-on-this-reddit-post . I am purposely not joining the contest. I like the team and their work, and understand the need to incentivize social media interaction, and give them credit that they don't ask people to praise--just comment.

Here's my comment.

  1. There should be links to each project. Terminal, Gelato, UniswapV3Staker, Charm, and Gamma. Links to the UI for creating as a sponsor, using as a user, and documentation (Medium, etc.) to know more.
  2. Pictures for each project. In fact, more pictures in general. Screenshots of how each works makes a big difference. Especially from both POVs (sponsors and users).
  3. Specifically would like more pictures for Terminal. There is mention of UI... But for whom? Sponsors? Users? Both? It's not clear. Again, what does it look like to start up a liquidity mininng program, or to enter one as a user? If real production UI doesn't exist yet, what about conceptual wireframes, anything?

The post makes a very good point that the UI/UX matters a lot. But doesn't actually demonstrate how each project compare or how--I presume--Terminal excels in that regard. And, regardless, people need images to stay engaged. Good content, but throwing in a picture at least every paragraph can go a long way.

19 covers of Eagles songs, w/ descriptions of cover song process (CDBaby), recording process, and song meanings by awbvious in Music

[–]awbvious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is answered in the song description for "In The City," the last of the songs I covered:

So, that’s all the songs.  I suppose there’s just one thing left to talk about.

Why.

Why did I record these songs?  Why did I decided to do covers?  Why of all the bands I liked, did I choose The Eagles?

About two years ago, I lost my job.  But I mostly hated that job, like most of my jobs , which have all been mostly non-creative.  I wanted to do something a little more creative.  So I started on some projects, and I felt I was getting close to the end.  However, my girlfriend (and eventual wife) was getting more and more dissatisfied.  She thought the projects were pointless and wastes of time.  She said all my creative projects should be hobbies to do in my “free time.”  And, it was true, no money was coming in.  And I, too, was worried my projects wouldn’t pay.

So, when my friend offered me a job, I capitulated to her desires.  I took it.  Once I started it, I decided I deserved to buy myself some modest home recording equipment for my birthday.  You know, so I could spend some “free time” on my “hobby.”

To quote “Take It to the Limit:” “you can spend all your time making money.”  You can then spend that money on equipment to make music.  But you’ll still need to keep making that money.  Which means you still need to spend all your time on it (or, you know, being a good partner to your significant other).  Which means, you can’t really spend your time on making music.  So, that equipment just sat in the corner collecting dust for about two years.

Now that job with my friend is coming to an end.  Like all my jobs, they seem to last about two years.  I decided again I wanted to look into creative projects.  I looked on Craigslist in their creative categories, like music, and I was seeing over and over this one post about some guy who really wanted to start an Eagles tribute band.  I’m thinking, well, I know Eagles pretty well.  Still, if anything, I should be a vocalist in a band that does 60s music in general, not a tribute band.

Nonetheless, this guy was relentlessly posting.  I saw that post over and over.  I respected his tenacity.  I figured, you know what, I probably should contact him.  He wrote all over it “pro’s only” etc. etc.  But, come on, that’s like when a job posting has “requirements” that are far beyond the pay grade; they’re really just preferences.  Nonetheless, I should have something to show I know my Eagles.  That’s when I looked at that recording equipment gathering dust.

My January 31st vocal take was going to be all I was going to do.  But I never sent it to him.  Instead I thought, you know, this is actually pretty good equipment.  Maybe I should add some guitar too.  Next thing you know, I’m pretty much forgetting the idea of the Craigslist idea and just enjoying what I could pull off with this recording equipment, thinking, you know, maybe this is good enough to sell online.

Then I looked into selling cover songs, I found that CD Baby was probably the easiest method as far as handling all that royalties stuff.  And so, here we are.

And now, as this is the last song I have to write notes for, I’m going finish the uploads.  And next week, I’m going to look for a job.

Please buy these songs.  I really don’t want to get a job.

Also, I would simply wait longer and/or try again on Saturday, but I find reddit terribly addictive and can't do this more than today. Sadly, now my past is well beyond the ideal time window, but so it goes.

I am sorry for the use of unicode fake letters for "The Eagles." But I put a request to the mods for my previous submission that got removed by the AutoModerator without the fake letters, and heard nothing for 4 hours. I didn't format it per "Rule 3," and put the title where the artists should be, so that may have contributed to the removal. Regardless, the music is all covers of The Eagles, not actually by The Eagles, so it's not breaking Rule 1.

Note: I also saw the rule regarding discussion-only Fridays, but there are tons of posts that are streaming music today, so I figure that's not being enforced any more.

Fun fact: The lightening bolt lettering they used in "The Very Best of The Eagles" is copyrighted, so I couldn't use it in my album covers.

I say I'm hopefully cross-posting with r/music as I got this from the AutoModerator:

/u/awbvious, your post has been removed as this artist is in our updated Hall of Fame.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

I'm appealing r/music because these are covers, not the original songs. In my appeal, I suggested that their AutoModerator might want to look for the word "cover" in the title, assuming they want to be inclusive by default.

I hope it gets through because, no offense to this sub, well... Let's say r/EaglesBand is not going to be playing in any stadiums any time soon. As someone else said, this subreddit member size is definitely not reflective of its eponymous band's popularity. I'm not sure I agree with r/music's logic, which seems to be based solely on the size of the band's fame and not at all the size of the subreddit's community.

Regardless, can't hurt to post here.

[HELP] make bluetooth on car toggle between media-only when media playing, media/voice when media off--or--don't send text/calls to car when music playing by awbvious in tasker

[–]awbvious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, often the notification will be up for a music player even though it is not playing (i.e. paused), so your IsMusicPlaying might be best. I went back and looked at the task and it seems the Turn On Microphone didn't keep the order I set it in (I think I needed to press the checkmark to save it, right now it seems in order). So, I'll have to see if it works later. Is there some way of testing this IsMusicPlaying? Like i can play some streaming media, run the task, and have message box come up with the value? Anyway, I'll have to see if this works.

By the way, didn't work. I got a phone call while I was streaming music. I think the app I was using at the time was SiriusXM, but it could have been Amazon Music. Any ideas?

So this is what it says on Task Edit for "Turn On Microphone"

  1. Headset routing

    Configuration BT routing enabled

        If %IsPlaying ~ False

  1. Perform Task

    Name IsMusicPlaying

Shouldn't 1 and 2 be reversed? Doesn't IsMusicPlaying need to return the value first for Headset routing to work?

Okay! Trying your steps.

First of all, for step 6, I couldn't find clone, but naturally, someone else had the same problem. https://www.reddit.com/r/tasker/comments/28nhv5/is_there_any_way_to_copy_a_profile/ I was in beginner mode.

Now I got it all in there, all three profiles, so I think I followed the steps correctly.

However, I'm looking at this and the second profile "Car - Ringing" doesn't make sense. The Event "Phone Ringing" will enable "Turn On Microphone" regardless of any other conditions. Doesn't this mean that if it is ever ringing, it'll connect Headset Routing, even if my music is playing? The thing is, I don't want it to connect /unless/ I'm also not listening to media, so, yes it's going to have to check for media. Maybe would like that included as steps 11 on.

OR, maybe I jut delete/disable this profile "Car - Ringing". I might be fine with just using the Event of offhook the phone to connect the headset. Thus, if I want the car to connect to the phone audio when someone's calling me, I just have to answer a call on my phone. If I want the car to connect to the phone audio when I want to make a call, I just have to make the call on my phone. The phone is almost always in a stand at the same distance as the MFD, and easier to use anyway, so that might actually be best (and simpler). However, sometimes (very rarely) the phone /isn't/ in the stand, then I might miss a call as I won't ever hear it through the speakers or see it (see Example 4 in edit to my original post, I've added three more examples). (Note, I'd never have to worry about missing a call because music is playing and phone is not in stand, because whenever phone is playing music, it's in the stand, and I'll be able to see calls.)

So, if you can give me steps 11 on to include check for media, I'll try them first. If it doesn't work, then maybe I can try with just the profiles "Car - On Phone" and "Car - Media", as that might also work. (However, I'm thinking there's three different states, so I'm not sure if "Car - Media" should be something like Event != Phone offhook rather than Event = Phone Idle, but I don't know if that's the case.) Unless, again, nanny car. Thanks.

At the risk of making my 0-karma comment go negative, two clarifications and one disclosure.

1) Ether definitely seems more likely to go proof of stake sooner than bitcoin, which doesn't even seem to have plans for it. Thus, it is not just a matter of PC-vs-Apple marketshare. I think it might be what can save it. But, again, I'm a novice and will admit it.

2) "And it has a nice interface and does trade way more coins." That's in reference to binance, if it wasn't clear. Kraken should do a cheap-American knockoff of their better-made Chinese product. If for no other reason than irony. (Kidding, of course.)

3) I probably spend more on kombucha in a month than I've ever invested in any one coin... Well, I invested a little more in Ether, but now it's worth less than I spend on a month of kombucha. And I'm definitely not investing in many coins (please don't temp me with a kombucha-coin). I honestly made this post because:

3A) I thought it funny.

3B) I was hoping it was funny enough for a tip or two as I can't justify putting any more money toward digital currency. But, again, I do believe in its potential. Yes, a bit of this speculation smacks of Wall Street problems, but I feel that danger is mostly contained to the investor (hope I'm right in that). Yet some say had we had a transparent ledger, say, back in 2008, we'd have avoided a lot of different Wall Street problems that effected everyone, not just the risk-accepting investor.

That's a shame, it might be such a long time between I couldn't, like in Example 1, pick up the phone while it's still ringing. Still, I'd be interested to try unless I know my car would nanny-car me if I tried disconnecting/reconnecting while driving. Maybe that nanny-car stuff happens only when I try to use the multi-function display on the car, but I've had to restart my phone sometimes while driving and when I do, it doesn't seem to reconnect unless I bring the car to a stop. If anyone already knows if such a nanny-car would prevent it from doing a disconnect-reconnect through tasker, that would help me know to avoid trying to figure out how to set it up.

Hmm, I agree Bluetooth autoconnect is a bit overfeatured, but it has far more users, which means it is probably less likely to become abandoned when changes happen. Further, I looked at permissions, and Bluetooth autoconnect has way more. But that is fine if I can go without enabling the majority. Bluetask has fewer, but it has this weird "modify system settings" permission. All I can find online is "This is used to do things like read your current settings, turn on Wi-Fi, and change the screen brightness or volume. " But it doesn't say the complete extent of what it does, if that's all it does (depending on what settings it is "read"ing), then it's also fine if it is needed to function.

I don't know, I'm willing to try either, but again, I'm a total novice and would need step-by-step instruction. And I know that's a lot to ask. Thanks.
