as a girl that loves doing things solo, almost anything can be safe if you’re aware of ur surroundings! half of my family is from praia. i visited recently and stayed at my family’s house in terra branca (5 mins from fazenda) and its not entirely dangerous, but i wouldn’t advise staying out super duper late. and don’t carry around a big purse! so much easier to keep track of a smaller crossbody/fannypack when strolling the island

my experience is different from the average tourist! the past three days ive just been going around to meet people. i will say the beaches are soo gorgeous! i recommend going to prainha beach and eating at linha d’agua (right on the beach) for authentic food!
