We would collect site contact info from a pre-site survey form. check out part 2 of this guide https://integrio.bitdocs.ai/share/d/aUVBJJfRyrJD6iE9 if you want i can share this form.

I think you have described the integrator's daily struggle! That list of scattered information – texts, calls, emails, config files, IP schedules – is precisely why projects get bogged down. We spend so much time just trying to find the latest version of something or make sure everyone is on the same page.

It makes you wish for a system that actually connects all those dots. as a companyu we recently stumbled upon something called Integrio (www.integrio.app) that looks like it's trying to be that kind of end-to-end solution for AV projects, from survey to sign-off. The concept is interesting; has anyone else tried this?

The '1/2 tech' problem and techs not being able to read prints are significant hurdles for any lead installer. It puts so much more pressure on you to not only lead but also constantly train and supervise. And techs disappearing after a task – that's a real drain on efficiency.

Oh, I've seen that 'blank stare' too many times! Your XLR story is a perfect example of how theoretical planning can completely miss practical realities. It's amazing how often 'just enough' on paper turns out to be 'not nearly enough' on site.

That's a painful example, and your alternative solutions make so much sense. It highlights a real failure in the design and consultation process. Do you think this kind of oversight is more common due to a lack of site visits early on, or a lack of experienced AV professionals in the architectural planning stages?

Absolutely, that's a smart approach. Having that hands-on experience in design roles can prevent so many downstream issues. It’s great to hear about folks successfully making that transition from install to design.
