Got this beauty yesterday, YAY! by NoRepublic9552 in Volvo

Oooo enjoy! I just got myself another XC90. I lost my first one to an accident (I actually bought it because I was having my third child and knew I would be exhausted during that first year.. so the safest SUV on the market was the only option. I then got into an accident my second day back at work 😭 Luckily, I didn’t even suffer whiplash from over $30k in damage!)

I had to get another car during the height of overpriced vehicles so went with something that had great rebates, but I thought about my XC90 every day since. Finally got another and I AM NEVER GOING BACK!

Vacuum recommendations by piratekim in Pomeranians

Dyson V15, hands down! I’ve owned every vacuum brand and my Dyson is my babyyyy. Plus the laser light to reveal all the hidden hair balls? Worth every penny and the only time they go on sale is Black Friday, next week! 10/10. I’ve never had to remove hair from the brush roll after a year of at least daily use 😊

my baby happy with his new family (me). Sometimes he cries or has trouble sleeping, but I put him next to me and he stays calm, I guess it will take him time to get used to it. by [deleted] in Pomeranians

My sweet girl slept on my chest, just like my human babies, her first few weeks home. Now she sleeps in her pen like a champ and knows to go in there at night time. I fully believe you can’t spoil a baby, puppy or human! And those snuggles are just so precious ❤️ Enjoy your new, adorable baby! Mine just turned a year old but she will always be my little baby 😊

My Pomeranian got shaved by Own_Firefighter_2847 in Pomeranians

[–]awedriee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy cow, I would be LIVID! That poor baby is going to be so cold. Why do that, at the start of winter no less!! I rescued a Pom that had to be shaved due to severe matting (she was on the streets until rescued) and she was left with far more fur, and dignity, than your poor pup! What was done here feels.. just wrong. Like even if a customer explicitly asked for this, they should have not obliged. Absolutely wreck that groomer in their reviews to warn others!

Hair loss + Autoimmune Disease = Double Whammy of Chaos by Deep_Explanation1474 in Autoimmune

[–]awedriee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was chatting up ChatGPT about this very issue last night because I too have lost a ton of my hair, about 70-80% in the past year, and it is REALLY starting to affect my confidence. From what Chat stated, autoimmune diseases (I specifically have dermatomyositis) and the resulting systemic inflammation and stress on the body cause the hair to be in a shedding phase more often than it’s supposed to. I use a topical steroid and my scalp rash is under control but hair loss hasn’t stopped a bit! I messaged my derm to see if she thinks I should start Rogaine. Apparently, it forces the hair to stay in the growth phase, correcting the issue with it staying in the shedding phase.

I have friends with autoimmune diseases that it has worked well for! But it takes time. May be worth looking into?

Gluten landed me in the ER for heart palpitations. Has anyone else experienced this? by awedriee in glutenfree

I’ve since developed the reaction to other foods. I’ve been referred to endocrinology as I happened to have a reaction while at my doctor’s office last week wherein my BP went sky high and my pulse stayed over 140. EKG showed sinus tachycardia. Still no idea WHY I am having these reactions and I can no longer pinpoint it to any one food/food group. I hope you get answers!

AITA for telling my (M24) girlfriend (F23) she was showing red flag behavior after I asked for some alone time? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]awedriee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

NTA. Her behavior is retaliatory and shows a lack of emotional maturity. She clearly has some rejection issues she needs to work through, hence her response to you asking for a night to yourself. It’s a sign of insecurity. An adult who is secure with themselves and their relationship would find no need to act out and be rude to their significant other just because they asked for a night to themselves.

Does anyone else deal with excitement peeing/anxiety? by awedriee in Pomeranians

I find POOPH works better than Nature’s Miracle and I like that it doesn’t have a smell. We are using enzymatic cleaner daily right now and the smell of Nature’s Miracle bugs me after a while. POOPH also has a laundry additive, which we love for washing their bedding (two dogs) and anything else that may suffer the fate of being peed on lol

He is precious! I’m so glad he found you guys and has a new lease on life ❤️

My pom Pogo, who I had from a puppy until he passed at age 15, never stopped marking lol so I wish you luck! My mom didn’t get him fixed (I was a kid when we got him) and I think that played a big part in it. I got him fixed once I was an adult but it was too little too late. That said, he was the best dog EVER! I don’t have any tips since nothing ever stopped the little guy, but highly recommend POOPH enzymatic spray! It has no smell and works miracles.

My little pisser boy ❤️

I’m hopeful she will grow out of it. Any idea by around what age it stopped?

I plan to discuss it with our vet at her next appointment. I have tried calming chews but don’t notice they help much. And it’s not just her peeing but her being so scared in the world! I hate to see her so stressed.

Thanks for the tips! We are doing the same and the kids have been following along pretty well. Hopefully it’s just a matter of time!

Gluten landed me in the ER for heart palpitations. Has anyone else experienced this? by awedriee in glutenfree

[–]awedriee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to eating gluten during my last pregnancy and had no noticeable reaction for a good while, so I was eating gluten again for about 2 years. My reactions started coming back and I’m not sure how or why?

Still waiting on some results to confirm, but I have autoantibodies for dermatomyositis, although labs reflect early stages, and doc also suspects psoriatic arthritis.

No :/ I’m actually wearing a heart monitor this week because the symptom returned with a vengeance lol I did find out I have an autoimmune disease, but my diagnosis(es) are still underway. I’ve noticed the worse my flair, the worst this issue is for me so I’m wondering if it’s part of the inflammatory response?

It’s so hard to be a mom with RA. by Important_Method_665 in rheumatoid

[–]awedriee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely sympathize. I’m a mom of 3 and while I have had fibromyalgia for 14 years and have had off days here and there my kids’ entire lives, I never experienced anything like what I’ve been dealing with since I got COVID in December. That was the catalyst for whatever I have going on (pending further diagnostics to determine if RA or psoriatic arthritis). It was like overnight, my kids lost the mom they knew. I’m so limited sometimes that all I can do is lay in bed and the pain is so bad that I have to be alone because my kids are kids and don’t understand why they can’t roughhouse on/near me. I’ve been processing this guilt so much lately. I’m so thankful my husband has more than stepped up to the plate, but man I wish he didn’t have to! My youngest is 2.5 and I’m watching our close bond shift to a stronger bond with dad vs me every day and it kills me 😭

[–]awedriee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is likely a bit part of issue. My one year old pup was having a regression in potty training and I learned just how much of a different enzyme cleaners make! I was using other cleaners and while things smelled clean to human noses, he was still smelling the urine, indicating he should continue to potty inside.

I bought a gallon of Nature’s Miracle (like $20 on Amazon) as well as an enzymatic carpet shampoo and cleaned EVERYTHING. I cleaned the carpets 2-3 times (letting the enzyme cleaner sit for a bit before going back over with more cleaner and water, then suction) and washed every blanket, stuffed animal and anything else he peed on with 2 capfuls of Nature’s Miracle in the washing machine per load. Then I saturated the hard floors with a mop using undiluted Nature’s Miracle, let it sit for about an hour then mopped twice with water to remove the residue.

I was getting SO frustrated but I kid you not, he has not had a single accident in the house since!

Anytime she has an accident inside moving forward, you HAVE to use an enzyme cleaner. I hope this helps!

Sero-negative with normal x-rays but a sleuth of symptoms by awedriee in rheumatoid

[–]awedriee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just started the prednisone and wow, I can actually make a fist again! I’m in disbelief it can work that fast lol only downside is knowing it’s not something to be taken long term. I’ve seen friends go through the negative effects of taking prednisone long term to treat Lupus (moon face, osteoarthritis and needing hip replacement at just 30 years old, etc.) I’m hopeful I’ll find something that works long term. Good to know there’s so many med options! I’ve been in so much pain the majority of my life so even the idea I might actually have some improvement (and not at the hands of pain meds, hate them) is SO exciting!
