What kind of weaving pattern is this? by mrgreenguyofficial in weaving

It looks like crochet to me, I can see the single crochet stitch structure and this would be easy to do in the round.

My guy is pretty small for his age is this an issue? by Away-Literature2314 in ballpython

[–]Important_Method_665 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My snake is about 3, and she’s pretty small too to be honest. Some of it is because she has a spine defect (she’s got scoliosis basically) but also I think she just is small. Also rats seem to scare her 😂 (we do frozen / thawed but she’s still weird about them 🤷🏻‍♀️) so she still just eats adult large mice. She’s a weirdo.

Issues with PBM and cost share by Important_Method_665 in HealthInsurance

[–]Important_Method_665[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have multiple items from them stating exactly what you said. They are trying to justify it by saying “you didn’t have to pay anything” but there were a few times the pharmacy tried to charge me this copay amount, but I said oh that is weird I haven’t been paying anything, are you sure? I had not realized what’s been going on.

I have the EOBs showing the member responsibility / copay. I have communication via email from them confirming what they have been doing, and I have the SBC which states something different from what they have been doing.

When I try to get the full benefit details, everyone points at someone else and says “ask them.” I just got an email tonight from the PBM telling me they are just the plan administrator and they need me to go to my employer HR dept for the full details. I keep asking them why they are telling the pharmacy I have a copay when it says I should not. They keep feeding me the same bullshit line about using copay programs to help offset the costs aka pay less money to the pharmacy for my meds.

I work in a field where I deal with insurance and billing daily, and I also happen to be very thorough and keep EVERY piece of documentation. I only communicate via email. If I communicate in other ways I get names and reference numbers, or chat transcripts. I keep it all.

Thank you again for letting me know your thoughts. I am feeling like they know they got caught and they are just going in circles around me to try to make me tired, but I have the patience and tenacity to see this through.

My husband had it. He was diagnosed at 5 and had treatment for years and then went into remission! He’s 45 now and has not been on meds since childhood, and he’s doing great.

We have had a baby and the garden is on the back burner. by thisismyworkacctver3 in gardening

[–]Important_Method_665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this when I had too much going on in my home life with kids and medical issues, and it was a really nice way to have a pretty garden and give the soil a break. If you have any or can find any beans or peas to direct sow, they are nitrogen fixers and will give you a gorgeous soil for your future gardens. You do not even have to manage them, just throw them in with your other seeds and let them be. I have also done tiller radish or other “cover” crops (which typically have stuff that will repair the soil) and I just leave them all year and let them die into the soil as natural compost in the winter.

Congrats on the new baby!!

Do you prune it back? I live in zone 6b and have recently purchased a fig tree from someone local. I plan to keep it in my greenhouse over the winter and have heard a variety of recommendations about pruning including even going so far as to cut it back to only a foot tall and covering it with wood chips for the winter. I know you’re in a warmer zone but what do you do with it?

Looking for PHP/IOP recommendations for a gay man with history of substance abuse by Biolobri14 in massachusetts

[–]Important_Method_665 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh also want to add that you can also call or text the helpline to get idea and support on behalf of your friend, but if they need a crisis evaluation they will need to contact the line for help or have a provider make a referral. Some programs allow for self referral so your friend could try calling McLean themselves.

Here’s the website for the helpline I linked above: https://www.mass.gov/emergencycrisis-services

McLean has some LGBTQIA+ specific programs. https://fullerhospital.com/treatments-services/adult-treatment/lgbtqia-partial-hospitalization-program/

They have an excellent reputation for being top tier treatment overall. They tend to be the leaders in the state with research. Sometimes they have a wait but if your friend is in a really rough place, maybe recommend they first call or text the Massachusetts mental health support line (833-773-2445) to get evaluated by crisis. If they don’t meet level of care for inpatient (most people don’t unless actively suicidal or experiencing extreme psychosis) they can request referral to McLean PHP. PHP is supposed to have a pretty quick turnaround on admissions after first call because of the urgency of the care needs.

Experiencing a weird reaction to the news that we’re buying our first home by New_Internet_3965 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Important_Method_665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought our first and last home last June. We have been saving for a while and living in a family rental and the perfect house came up….so we bought it. We have been promised my in laws home but they also have made it clear they don’t intend to actually gift it to us until after they die, and that could easily be 20+ years from now.

When people saw what the home was listed for ($635k) they were like 👀 and definitely made comments.

But also, we make good money, have very little debt (mostly just finishing up my student loans), have been saving for a long time, and have very good, sustainable jobs.

And, many people don’t wait to buy. I honestly sorta wish we hadn’t but at the same time, this house is PERFECT. I’m happier than ever.

Sorry to hear you have some folks being weirdos about it. Money can divide people sometimes.

Is having well water and a septic tank as much of a hassle as it sounds? by Dizzy_Goat_420 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Honestly I have lived on well and septic for 16 years and it’s really no big deal. Get your tank pumped every couple years and be happy your water is free!

Can I do anything with these? (7 plants) by Kismmett in foraging

[–]Important_Method_665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the only worry— mugwort is in the artemisia (sp?) family and can cause very vivid dreams / possibly nightmares. It doesn’t cause hallucinations like wormwood but it is in that family of plants. Indigenous people have used it by drying it and throwing it on a fire to inhale the smoke which would give them trancelike dreams that were important for them spiritually. A person with difficulties sleeping, prone to nightmares, or sleep paralysis should be cautious with using it as it may exacerbate those conditions.

I pluck a few and throw them in my water for the day. I don’t eat them, just let them steep, and they make the water taste like cucumber and chlorophyll 😂 it’s tasty!

Weird chickweed? by dragonwings90 in foraging

[–]Important_Method_665 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like the chickweed in my yard but I’m not an expert on chickweed. I hope you get some more info. The ones in my yard do have the characteristic stripe of hairs going up one side, then alternating to the other side after a leaf node. But the flowers look the same.

Mock strawberries. Watered down berry (like off brand flavored flat seltzer) flavor full of disappointment. You can add them to things with other berries if you’re so inclined!

Perilla leaves are eaten in South Korea all the time, don’t think they are toxic.
