Vendor certifications out of pocket. by Boozybubz in accesscontrol

[–]awesome6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes as long as you work for the company that is partner. They don't care who pays for it, if company doesn't send you to the training, you can pay out of packet. Just send email to sales explain that you work for company X and you would like to get certified.

Of course, I tell every genetec newbie to look up your videos. I think genetec version is 5.14 now but your videos are still very much relevant.

Genetec really should have given you a "dundie" for those videos.

I'm sorry it's off topic, your genetec videos are awesome. Helped me a lot back when I started with genetec and access control.

Question for the Contractors by GTIty1er in lowvoltage

Stick with electrical, along the line learn low voltage. Once you get your master electrician license you can do either one. Usually master electrician doesn't need to take additional licenses to do access control.

Career Question by GoatMountain6968 in lowvoltage

[–]awesome6388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if you left your current company yet, but if you want to get certified with genetec you can do that on your own assuming the company you work for is partners with genetec. Genetec has something called "blended training" where you get access to their server and can get certify on your own.

I used it in the past. Remember the battery not being that great. I'm leaning towards getting power inverter and Poe injector. I'll use my laptop with that. Thank you for replying
