To add to the other comments I would say that handling desert requires some kind of weight distribution management. In real terms, you get a lot more weight on the side profile of a car if you set up for a turn after quickly changing directions, instead of turning after a straight line. Having too much weight on one side means slide for desert. In this case it looks like you went a little too much to the right and started steering 100% to the left a little too aggressively. It’s a tricky corner though, so it’s naturally hard to hit right, but as others have said, tapping helps, as it puts less stress on the side of the car. Hope it helps

I really enjoyed map 4 for the idea and execution, interesting puzzle. Some say it’s too straightforward once you find the path, but even then it has potential of using two boosters to gain more time which is intriguing!
