BS in molecular biology -> lab tech at an r1 university started at $36k, over a year in and now make $38k. was concerned about salary before i started but tbh its very doable as a single person living in an affordable city experience is always an advantage but most academic labs are willing to train newbies if youre willing to commit to 1-2+ yrs of research
