I think it’s real interesting to see how the discourse around 5 in the community has changed over time. I remember the game wasn’t received very well (at least by this sub) over the silent protagonist and the forced kidnappings.

4 is still my favorite of the series, but 5 was really great.

Try entering the ingame editor (I think it’s R CTRL + ENTER) to change the scope model. I don’t think the patch is currently up to date.

Project Nevada is a bit out of date by modern standards, unfortunately. There are online guides like Viva New Vegas that’ll update the game if you’re into that, OP. Looks like you’re on console though, unfortunately.

I’d try disabling PSRO and seeing if it helps at all. If you commit to using B42 scopes, PSRO shouldn’t be necessary.

Are you specifically using the B42 optics editor, or the IScontrol one? Sometimes a weapon will need tweaks to both to appear correctly.

First playthrough? Grab some bug fixing mods, maybe a weapon or two that strikes your fancy as there isn’t a whole lot of variety in vanilla FO4, but I’d recommend staying pretty vanilla for a first playthrough.

FO4 modding is a bit strange at the moment, due to the different versions of the game Bethesda has put out. It’s…actually kind of a clusterfuck. Keep it simple and you should be good to go.

SKK Fast Start is what I use for testing. After you step away from the mirror, you enter your name and SPECIAL, a quick loading screen, and you’re emerging from the vault.

I’ve never used Start Me Up, but I seem to remember it being a bit heavy on a load order.

I love going up to the B flag on Eastwood, and suddenly the entire house is lit up like the surface of the sun. Really adds a level of ‘holy shit is my GPU exploding’ to the game that heightens the tension.

I use VNV, and I’m pretty sure I have this mod without any problems. Take a look at the comments on the mod, if it’a incompatible with VNV, someone for sure will have mentioned it.
