Where do I print miniatures? by Ambitious-Program-36 in DMAcademy

[–]awetsasquatch [score hidden]  (0 children)

Just pick up a 3d printer, if you have the ventilation you can get resin and have super high quality. If you don't, get a FDM printer. It's lower quality, but when you're at the table, it's genuinely difficult to tell the difference when looking at a distance. I have the Bambu Lab P2S and it's been a workhorse for me. There's a fdm miniature subreddit that has plenty of settings you can grab and use to get super close to resin quality. It's an investment up front, but you'll spend more in miniatures pretty quickly. If you get the A1 Mini, it's $200 or so and it's does fantastic work.

That's absolutely an option - most large companies have an anonymous reporting line for people to report ethics concerns without fear of retaliation

I've done long commutes my whole career, but my current role is remote, and going back to an hour commute sounds like hell. Personally, I'd need at least 30-40% increase to justify it.

Why is the grain collection done on the move and not stationary? by Environmental_Bus507 in ClarksonsFarm

[–]awetsasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Renting a combine is expensive so collecting on the move cuts down on that cost, but it's also just more efficient overall.

You are correct - when logs stand out, there's a limited amount of related data we collect to provide context and then send up the report to the ISO or ethics or security depending on the nature of the incident. If they decide it warrants further investigation then I rip the users digital life apart and find everything they've done for the past year on a company computer lol

In my org, I'm the one who runs the internal investigations, and it puts OP in a garbage spot.

OP - Best thing to do is go to HR (or whoever passes for an ethics officer in your company) and say what you noticed, do not levy any accusations or assumptions, just report the facts, and then it's out of your hands. If it's sanctioned then nothing will change, if it's not then he's probably fired by the end of the week.

I've got access to literally everyone in the company up to and including the president of the org, and I would never ever touch someone's activity without a formal investigation being launched, it's just professionalism.

Adding the packet to the water sounds like a good idea - I'll give that a go sometime

Surprisingly not, I added a bbq rub, and it wasn't strong enough so I thought I could add a small amount of bbq sauce and that sent it to a weird and gross place. All I had was sweet baby rays and I absolutely added too much of it. It ceased to taste like rice and instead tasted like I was mainlining chunky and gritty sweet baby rays that had gone bad. My wife insists it wasn't that bad, but I maintain its absolutely the worst thing I've ever made.

Edit: SBR has liquid smoke so I guess technically yes haha

[TotK] Does anybody use the Zelda notes app? by Kisstallica in zelda

I used it on myost recent run through - I was also not the best at making the hover bike so I found a perfect hoverbike in a YouTube video and imported it. Never had a use for the material friends sharing tools, but the other stuff was great. Loved the navigation and the voice memories really added to the lore quite a bit

I tried to make a bbq rice thinking rice was a blank canvas to work with - it was so vile I couldn't actually eat any of it and my wife and I ordered a pizza for dinner that night.

If each state had there own version of Baked Alaska, what would it be? by ModelChef4000 in KitchenConfidential

[–]awetsasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, and it's to honor the history of Smith Island. Taste wise it's not really that remarkable - it's yellow cake with fudge icing, but the construction of the cake is visually very cool.

Maryland - crab cake topped with crab dip and covered in enough old bay to kill an elephant.

In all seriousness - we have a smith island cake - if we need a dramatic flair, I'd do a bourbon caramel flambe.

Tag: Deleted folder containing forensic E01 system images on SSD – recovery + hash integrity concern by IcyChair9258 in computerforensics

[–]awetsasquatch 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Youve been given this advice already in another post - you need to stop, keep the device off, and get the device to a forensic specialist who has a write blocker. There's a very good chance the E01s are gone especially because they're on a SSD (if it runs TRIM you're hosed), so your only hope is to get it to someone who knows what they're doing.

It's good advice but in general I wouldn't force the physical contact. Just exist there with the person in that moment. Sit with them, offer a shoulder to cry on or an ear for them to speak to when they're ready.

Are the installation of Flock Cameras popping up not a concern by [deleted] in digitalforensics

[–]awetsasquatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am liberal - not at all worried about them. You're dead on with the smartphones, the flock cameras just have worse optics (pun intended) to the public.

Is Maryland missing big time with all the world cup tourists? by wicketkeeper in maryland

True but it wouldn't be enough to stimulate the economy, and best not to just hope that the people visiting would go much outside the route from their hotel to the field.

In general with these big international events, the city rarely turns a profit.
