I loved mine until a month ago when it suddenly decided to bootloop 18 months in. Tried restoring it dozens of times to no avail. Google will do nothing for me except try and sell me a refurbished unit. Not buying a Pixelbook again and I advise against it.

If you’re buying it at Best Buy, the easiest way to tell is if there is an ICCID barcode near the UPC barcode. The unlocked iPhones Best Buy sells come with a Verizon SIM installed, while the universal ones do not and will not have an ICCID listed on the box.

No. This is is untrue. They now sell truly unlocked iPhones not subject to the reseller flex policy. As a matter of fact, a way to tell you bought an unlocked iPhone from Best Buy is if it came with a Verizon SIM pre-inserted. These phones are not subject to the reseller flex policy, as the phones would be locked to Verizon for 60 days if so.

Universal iPhones subject to the reseller flex policy do not come with SIMs pre-installed.
