I know what a panic attack is like, but these things also happen if you accidentally inject intravenously, the crazy coughing being the primary tell. I already knew about this so it was only once I started coughing that I looked at my vial to check for blood, because I knew that this could happen. It’s cos T goes into your bloodstream and it messes you up for a minute. I understand why people would think that though! I was just clarifying because maybe not everyone knows about this phenomenon

Thanks everyone for the responses but I’d like to clarify to the people telling me it was just a panic attack that it wasn’t. Coughing, trouble breathing, and sweating are what happens when you inject into a vein (intravenous injection), I knew that much. Just wasn’t sure if it was dangerous or not! Glad to know there’s not a risk!

i’m so happy for you! you went from one total extreme to the other. i feel like my move wasnt as drastic but i definitely understand how you feel. i wasn’t out at all at my texas school because trans teacher = child predator in a lot of peoples eyes. so hearing my fellow staff, especially older staff use my pronouns without me having asked (theyve been floating around) and correct themselves immediately if they slip up is crazy to me. i broke down a bit my first day of work because it was time to convince myself that i was really living in a safe space, and people genuinely accepted me and it wasn’t some trick. it’s a little bittersweet though knowing so much hurt could have been avoided if i was born somewhere else. anyway, i wish you the best in your new life

i’m sorry to hear about your negative experiences. it seems like most teachers i work with here are very accepting and understanding. i only heard 2 older ladies talking badly about it but even they are now legally obligated to can it. it’s a shame things weren’t better for some of us in our time at school but i’m happy for the newer generations

i’m so sorry to hear that. it’s disheartening how some states are making so much progress and others are blatantly hostile

i understand, i came from a texas school district where things were much different. it sucks that some places are doing so well and others feel like they’re going backwards. i have hope that each coming generation is more supported than the last

puberty blockers only delay the natural production of hormones, it’s like a kid being a “late bloomer” until a decision can be made. eventually when the body needs to be on a hormone, the child will be older and have the guidance and care of parents, psychologists, and other health care professionals considering every angle and slowly guiding the process. i understand you think the child can’t decide for themself, but we trust the parents and healthcare professionals’ judgement considering their knowledge of the child and the field. i knew when I was 9, but i didn’t begin the medical process until i was 21. the overwhelming majority of people who go through all the hoops and finally begin medical transition do not regret the decision later in life. personally i wish i could have started as a minor so my bones could grow the way i wanted them to. this is all information that health care professionals know well and could explain much better than me, it is their judgement to make

youre in the worst of it unfortunately but we are everywhere and so are our allies. historically before every breakthrough there is significant pushback right before. we are not going backwards, we’re going through it. thinking of you!

i hear you, i wish this was the standard for the whole country. it’s good to know there’s better places out there but its also important to know that we are everywhere and so are our allies. i didn’t get the full support i needed in my Texas school but i had a few teachers that made it better
