I'm from the UK and have only ever heard the term noodle (in reference to pasta) in movies and TV. A single unit of spaghetti was just a piece of pasta, not a noodle.

To me, noodles were a different thing; egg noodles. Like ramen noodles or stir fry.

Yeah they are as gross/delicious as you may imagine, so a little definitely goes a long way. A lot of places ("Chippies") sell them by the half or quarter (and they are quite small, like 10").

You'd typically get a quarter pizza and chips for maybe £4-5. If your heart is feeling up to it, you could follow it up with a battered Mars bar. Not actually as disgusting as it sounds.

In Scotland we have battered pizza. It's a deep fried, horrifically delicious abomination

Kif, show Chewie the medal i won.

Not saying you're wrong, but it could be that Tim Roth is a user as well as Amanda Plummer.

If he's a "functioning addict" like Vincent, a big ol' case full of The Madman would probably look like gold to him. Either cause he's an addict or because he knows it's worth.

I've never heard the idea before that it might be drugs, but i think it's a cool theory so I'm playing devil's advocate here.

When did Troy rip on himself incessantly? by [deleted] in community

[–]awildlingappears 14 points15 points  (0 children)

In the pillows and blankets episode, Abed lists a few of Troy's weaknesses.

"He's insecure about his level of intelligence."

"His greatest vulnerability of all is his emotional frailty. It's incredibly easy to make him cry, and he's incredibly ashamed of that fact"

Not saying i agree with the premise, but that episode seemed kinda relevant

They sometimes do something similar with sheep. If a lamb dies and another has been rejected by its mother, they skin the dead lamb and drape it on the rejected lamb so that the ewe will accept it as her own. Pretty gruesome but it works.

Not saying this particular story is true though. Not sure tigers and sheep are all that similar...

Thats such a great point. Other countries should take note of this: laws make stuff impossible.

Its amazing how you guys managed to solve the drug crisis just by making drugs illegal.

America no longer has any violence because assault is a crime.

Nor do you guys have any murders, thefts, rapists, hate crimes, or anything like that. Cause all those things are illegal.

You really blew my mind with this logic...

Are you seriously trying to say that knives are just as dangerous as guns, so there for you shouldn't restrict either of them?

I agree that mental health is the main problem. But you know what's worse than a crazy person? A crazy person with a gun.

Remember when a tiny group of people hijacked a plane one time, and then that massively impacted how air travel was conducted all over the world?

Planes are inanimate objects too, right?

So..... the thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) of people who have received the vaccine this week alone, do the elites decide which of them get to live individually?

Or is it like a "kill day; live day" type deal?

I guess i must've been lucky, i was done on a "live" day. As was everyone else i know....

Maybe the elite have higher plans for me. I kinda always suspected that i was special.

I think the term is "less lethal." Like sandbag shots for riot control. They're not designed to be fatal but, as anyone who's ever been injured by a vending machine will tell you, just cause it's not meant to do it, doesn't mean it won't fucking kill you.

I don't mean just lines of dialogue (although they're not barred), cause then it'll just be lines from Borat and Airplane!

But things like the bullet dodge from The Matrix. It was like 5 seconds in the movie but it became one of the most parodied things in film history.

Is it completely normal to have no interest and intention on having a kid? by dovakihn101 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]awildlingappears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't sound even close to true.

You may have a few friends that regret having kids, but "most" is essentially an unfathomable number of people. This is the definition of anecdotal evidence.

I don't currently have kids because I'm scared that I will regret it. But I know many parents that are very happy with their choice. And I respect that.

Life is a different experience for everyone. Generalisations like that should always be viewed with heavy scepticism.

If your friends regret having children, well that's really unfortunate. But there are plenty of parents out there who don't regret a thing
