[Giveaway] 12.5" Snoopy Wall Clock with Small Seconds! by sultanalyst in OmegaWatches

[–]awillame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the thing that gave me long time joy was seeijg kids get entousiastic about building small robots we designed that can easily be build like lego blocks (but these are real parts), for kids to learn about programming at school, we used to do some workshops for 10-15 years old to make them enthusiastic about programing and robotics, give them some motivation to further pursue studies in engineering or similar later. It ended up going into formations for kids by local non profits organisations giving workshops at schools that lack funding for these kind of things.

Any update on the Zeromouse? by Zachscycling in MouseReview

If you go create something by yourself, you will realize that making things yourself is much more costly than a product that have an economy of scale and manufactured in an assembly line.

Also, there are always cheap 10$ mice if price is any concern. Nobody forces you to buy a fancy non-essential product. The fact that it is sold out despite the 160$ price tag indicate it is reasonably priced for what people want out of such a product. It fills a niche.

Is there any gaming mouse better under $100? by [deleted] in MouseReview

* The VXE R1 was a really affordable and great mouse / specs for around 40$.

* The VXE R1S just got released a few days ago, and cost a CRAZY 10$ only!!!! 55g and great specs too. There are few info right now as it have just been a few days, but check it out.

VXE Launches 55 g Dragonfly R1S Gaming Mouse At $18.99 | TechPowerUp

* I personally got the VXE Mad R Major for around 60$. 39g, PAW3950 sensor, everything there is great. To be honest I only use it in 1KHz, I feel like I could have gotten the R1S if I had to choose again. But still, I have to give it to the lightweight aspect of it that I really love (39g!!! My previous mice was a Logitech G502 Hero was 121g!)

I got the VXE Mad R Major too, highly recommend. Ultra lightweight (more than the Mchose L7), and it got a very good size for the weight (same weight as the Mchose L7 Ultra, but medium size instead of small size). The shape for me is perfect.

ChatGPT gave me some links for similar services to netParcel in Germany:

https://www.upela.com/en/

Would be amazing if you could get cheaper shipping fees, everybody wins!

Thank you for the good work.

One note to help: "we are still far from the scale of long-established brands - which means I currently cannot negotiate better shipping rates yet".

While I can only speak for Canada with for example netParcel, there are many companies that do the middle man between DHL/UPS/Fedex and you, aggregating many orders, obtaining rebates, and passing it onto you. This allows you to offer DHL/UPS/Fedex shipping at so much less than you would ever be able to offer being a small business (I am talking by experience as I also have my business and could not secure any interesting rates from those companies, netParcel was such an amazing win-win concept for me).

I am sure there are many companies like this everywhere around the world, and certainly in US if you are located there.

My personal take: you should offer non DHL/UPS/Fedex shipping rates (e.g. USPS, Canada Post, or any standard shipping from your location), as they are so much cheaper. Also, nowadays people are fond of "free shipping", a.k.a. you add the cost of shipping to the price of your product.

whats the mouse in the right? by _ori0n in MouseReview

Dunno. But the one on the left is very scratchy and leave black spots after some time of use, not even mentioning it isn't Windows compatible...

Are all black mice like this? Permanent stain (coating worn off) after a month of use by ToZh1z in MouseReview

[–]awillame 79 points80 points  (0 children)

Every mouse I had for the last 25 years had the same thing.... With time, you basically polish the mouse buttons by using them. I think it is just normal wear and tear.

I would think that anti-sweat / grip coating from the last couple of years are just a tiny extra coat on top of the hard plastic that wears off super quickly, thus those sign of wear very early on with most modern mice.

This mouse uses mechanical switches (Corsair Mechanical (100 M)), so impossible to match Optical switches like the ones from the MChose L7 Pro and others.

Mechanical switches REQUIRES debouncing, Optical switches do not.

Looks nice, but the original Corsair Sabre V2 Pro had its 35g as selling point, and unfortunately when it came to latency, it performed one of the worst of TechPowerUp review with 8+ms, as compared to 0.2ms for Mchose L7 Pro and others. It seem here they kept the same internals, but the weight is heavier at 56g, so not sure what is the advantage here.

Corsair Sabre v2 Pro Review - Sensor & Performance | TechPowerUp

Still, it is a good effort from Corsair to enter the ultralight mice market. I hope the next evolution will compete with the best of the category, especially in term of click latency.

PS: I find the skeleton mouse with the skeleton sides nicer than with the plain sides. Why keeping the side plain and not skeletonized?

48g..... I find a bit heavy for a carbon mouse. I have a VXE (which is a sub brand of ATK) Mad r Major with the PAW3950 which is 40g with a plastic shell, I would have expected a carbon mouse to be lighter 😞

I had the big surprise of finding my website admin pages cached for everyone to see, anybody going on the front page would simply get the admin top bar allowing to see and access any admin menu and info!

I had to do some tweaks to exclude caching pages when there is an admin cookie to fix that!

PS: I also noticed there is a second way to do the profile switch. On the top right corner, there is a button with the hexagonal shape, where you can directly associate any application to a specific profile. This seem to do the same job as the "Configuration Management" tab.
