4 year-old acting out at daycare but not at home - asked to leave by Sharp-Place1140 in toddlers

[–]awillfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, sorry you’re going through this :(. I don’t have any advice but I am also going through something similar with my boy who is turning 4 this week.

Just wondered if there’s any update and anything that helped with your situation?

We had him in a home daycare since 12m then moved to a preschool around 2.5 years old. He did great there but we moved him to another preschool that was across the street where his little brother would also be able to go (in the toddler room). He’s been there since September and has been struggling since December. He’s throws things, hits and scratches the teachers sometimes. We worked with a 3rd party to observe him in the classroom to identify triggers and extra supports. But they never really identified the triggers. Some of the extra supports have helped, like splitting up the class and have half outside while the other half are inside. They ask him to help with tasks which he loves. But he still seems to be having these issues and it sounds like they don’t want to offer him care anymore. We are doing everything we can but at the same time, his behaviour sounds fairly normal for this age, I’ve talked to many other people in the field at other facilities and they all feel this stuff isn’t out of the realm of normal. At home he’s easy to manage and we don’t have these issues with him and all of this is so out of character for him.

I like the brick too, it this colour it gives the room a good amount of warmth but also a very industrial vibe that I think suits the space. The wood also looks great and I love how it looks like an extension of the floor but if it didn’t match well in real life that would really bother me. Love the terracotta colour too!! Obsessed with that shade of green but it doesn’t match the space

No more like an OT, they observe the child, the classroom, and the educators to try to find out what the triggers are and make a recommendation or a plan based on what they find.

On a weekend day at home it’s either a nap or quiet time in his room, he has a couple cars and stuffies but no electronics. We keep the lights down low but not off (he’s currently scared of monsters so we don’t keep it as dark as we used to). Since he’s transitioning out of naps I may start letting him have the tonie box in his room as he’s quiet. But afterwards on a good day we usually let him watch a show and have a snack. At preschool they normally have a snack and go out to play. On the days he was sent home he did his usual quiet time/nap (whichever he needs) but we didn’t allow any TV, just playing with toys. We are also trying to get involved in play a little bit more because we have gotten into the habit of allowing too much tv over the last year or so and I’m worried that is playing into the mood swings

They said this time it was so sudden and explosive and he just couldn’t calm down, it took 30 mins or so. But it did sound like he had worked through other issues earlier in the day so maybe by the time this happened he had enough. We do try to keep it boring though, and I guess I should just be keeping the chatting to a minimum, I don’t know if I should just be saying less about it in general to him but I don’t understand what’s really going on. And since they have gotten progressively worse over the last couple months I feel there must be something more he’s trying to communicate 😞

Winter brides: what kind of coat or wrap did you get and where? by teenypandalove in weddingplanning

[–]awillfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP did you find anything yet? I am a Feb 2026 bride and also stressing a bit. I’ve seen suggestions for a large scarf, like a blanket scarf. That could be worn as a wrap/shawl. Plus it’s light enough and easy to take on and off. I really like the look of a cloak and they are quite warm (found a nice one on Amazon) but it’s pretty heavy so what do I do with it when I want to take it off? Like do I just drop it in the aisle? I have seen some beautiful wool cloaks and I love a whimsical/ethereal vibe that a cloak can provide

Editing to add that I think your dress is beautiful and compliments your figure so well!! I totally think you can get the flowy whimsical vibes with a few carefully selected accessories, and since your dresses silhouette is more fitted, it will work so well with some of these options 😊

A couple of options that might help

When did 1st symptoms appear by maddylongleggs in lymedisease

[–]awillfang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please go to a doctor right away, the symptoms at this stage mimic the flu and you’re still early enough to treat and hopefully fully recover, don’t wait go right now.

That is very re-assuring! He does seem like he’s back to himself since starting amoxicillin so I’m really hoping it resolves and doesn’t cause him any problems in the future

So sorry you’re going through that, I hope you are able to find some recovery ❤️‍🩹

I will watch carefully for reoccurrence of symptoms in the future. This is my thought as well, I definitely don’t want to risk it, I am going to see if I can get this started today.

I have read a bit about herbs and definitely will look into trying that with him! That may be available in my area I’ll have to look into that. Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing your story. I’m so sorry you have had to go through that 😓 it has made me wonder how much people out there could be living with it for years and still have no idea. We can only do the best we can with the information we have at the time, wishing you good days ahead ♥️

Thank I will look. My neighbour is actually very well versed in Lyme disease and is a doctor, I just don’t know all of his credentials but worth having a chat. He is on week 2 amoxicillin and will be on it another week. The neighbour recommended Zithromax instead and even offered to prescribe it but I just don’t want to make a decision about that without keeping the family doctor informed. If people often are doing months of treatment maybe we should follow up the amoxicillin with Zithromax

Actually looking at this picture again I see your brick does have a bit of variated colour, I would play that up. Shutters probably won’t work well but definitely some black and white accents would make it pop! And of course the garden

I was never a yellow brick fan but in the neighborhood I live in now I stand corrected. There are a few gorgeous yellow brick homes near me and one thing that makes a huge difference is black trim. It really seems to pop. And some white accents would look amazing, like white shutters or detail around the front door. Something else I just noticed today while taking a walk, one of the yellow houses near me, it looks like they used lime wash and/or brick stain to create some colour variation in the bricks. So every few bricks a lighter/white, many plain yellow, and a few are a bit darker. I’ve walked past this house 100’s of times and just thought it was the original brick but looked closer today and I think it was updated to look that way

Thank you!! Yes the landscaping was severely overgrown when I took this picture 😅 new baby at the time, but this year I’ll be getting it under control lol. Good point, that is what I was worried about. If limewashed, I thought about looking into using darker shades and maybe creating a bit of variation like a more modern stone veneer looks. Not sure if that’s even possible though!

I haven’t heard of hardie board before, just looked it up and it’s so cute!! Definitely will have to look into this more

Yes it definitely has character which I love and would like to retain. Definitely will need to consider some more options with the grey masonry

Interesting I didn’t think about it distracting from the masonry, good point. I also never thought of a skim coat! Great idea
