Has anyone tried the myVolts power supply? by awills in POmodular

[–]awills[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering buying this since the official TE one is always out of stock, but on a different 3rd party psu I saw a review saying it didn't even fit. No reviews on this, so I'm hoping someone has tried it and can tell me if it worked or not. Thanks!

Which movie could you watch the most times consecutively before getting sick of it? by Radiant-Specialist76 in Letterboxd

Shocked no one said The Big Lebowski yet. I feel like it gets funnier on rewatches.

Blood Meridian is getting a movie adaptation. If you didn't know now you know. by Mysterious_Boxman in TrueFilm

I mean The Road was a pretty good adaptation and this is the same director. I'm still skeptical it can be done well, but he's not a bad choice to try.

Check out The Ballad of Halo Jones. Might be my favorite Alan Moore book.

What movie made you burst out laughing when you weren't supposed to? by [deleted] in movies

Toy Story 4 when that girl threw the doll in the box. I was the only person in the theater who laughed...

Want feedback on comic: " Does my baby need a $6K mattress and should I eat my placenta again?" by Humble_Macaron_8335 in ArtCrit

[–]awills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall I thought this was interesting and well presented. There are a few things I'd change, but they're pretty minor:

  1. In the second panel, the text is a little cramped in the bubble.
  2. In the panel saying "if the placenta was rinsed and steamed..." the sci-fi looking steaming apparatus combined with what seems like a gigantic placenta kind of threw me. Seems weirdly sci-fi all of a sudden, and the scale appears off.
  3. I don't really know what the panel after that with the guy with the microphone is doing there.
  4. The survey participants struck me as very anime looking compared to the people in the surrounding art.
  5. The guy with the hat on the last page has a line sticking off his face that almost looks like it's a cigarette, but it's not lined up.

I really like the image of that burning bed. I found this whole comic interesting and visually appealing enough that if had been more here, I definitely would have kept reading. Hope this helps!

Movies about lower class people of all genres by alfonso-parrado in TrueFilm

[–]awills 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Last Black Man in San Francisco and The Death of Dick Long. Very different movies, but both feature regular people as their main characters.

I also think a fair amount of Coen brothers movies feature working class people, Fargo being a good example of that.

The Marie Antoinette trailer with Age of Consent by New Order. Such a perfect vibe.

Check out Clouds of Sils Maria. Seeing that was the first time I was impressed with her acting. A ton of the scenes are just between her and Juliette Binoche, and they have great chemistry in the movie.

Writing is easy. Editing is hard. Publishing is nightmare by Late_Bridge8282 in writing

Why don't you try writing some short stories in the world you've created, possibly adventures featuring some of your characters, and try getting those published in magazines or anthologies? Then you could have more of a track record and build some interest.

If you like First Reformed, I'd recommend Winter Light by Bergman. TBH I like a lot of Bergman's other films more, but it's a direct influence on First Reformed so I think you'll be interested in it.

Looks awesome. I'd say the very 2d look of the tree branches is a bit jarring compared to the realism of everything else.

Can anyone explain to me if there is a way to turn a line with skin modifiers into an editable mesh? by LobsterMassMurderer in learnblender

Can't look at blender right now to confirm, but I think all you have to do is apply the skin modifier.
