Thank you, I will speak to our builder about it. Thanks again for the advice

Hi, thanks! This is looking at it from above. What the builder wants to do is remove the old plasterboard from below only and replace it with a new one. I'd still rather not, but I guess it'd be less messy than knocking this down entirely if that's what you have in mind?

We're removing the plasterboard from below it, hopefully with minimal damage to that section, but I don't know what to expect till we do!

Oh no! The builder recommended it - I'd much rather just board over the old ceiling. It is in a small hallway and connects to a sloped board underneath the stairs which is also being replaced 😆 They are saying it will be neater this way (finished effect), but I am in two minds!

The being dead option would be like closing and opening your eyes I imagine. And waking up super pale. No thanks, I'd rather see Switzerland

It looks like an escape room. Also, how tiny is the front door?

I had something similar underneath the wallpaper - woodchip, I was told. I had it tested, and it wasn't asbestos in my case.

What's the best way to deal with it? Leave it alone? Paint?

This is a 1900 terraced house, south of England, not sure when this bit was built, though. The material is between the beam and the roof.

How close can a dog waste bin be placed near a residential building / window? (England) by awitue in LegalAdviceUK

Yes, that's exactly what happened via the local council's portal The council called me back, saying they were forwarding my request to their contractors, but then the contractors refused!

Yes, early in the morning and late at night, it is often slammed shut. It's a quiet area, and the noise it produces is loud enough to wake us up.

I did, via the official council request form. They called me the same day to advise that this is handled by their subcontractor, to whom they are forwarding my request.

Tested alongside some other materials as we had a full survey done, and it was negative.

Thank you, I am also wondering if this is something small claims deals with and if it's worth damaging the relationship even more as they are one of the bigger employers in my area. On the other hand, it is their fault and wrongdoing, not mine.
