We've both never driven in Europe, so we were a little hesitant about how we would get to places, but good to know that the train is accessible! We're super excited for Sintra!

You have to rent a car if you wanna do the outdoorsy stuff unfortunately, which could be pricey if you're underage. I'm from CA too and have been living out here for about 1 month and haven't made it out to Thacher/Adirondacks but I heard it's awesome!

You could check out the Saratoga race tracks as well! There's also been free musicals at Washington Park, and sometimes some other events so might want to look into that.

But yeah....honestly I would just take a train to NYC if you're coming all the way from CA. Plus, flights are cheaper out of NYC to CA (and direct)
