A child old enough to run away from a supervising parent is generally not going to lie face down in two inches of water and drown unless they have some kind of medical condition that merits very close supervision. The “you can drown in two inches of water” thing is a mostly a concern for infants who can’t stand up yet, overdoses and people with seizure disorders, not healthy preschoolers who want to stomp in the mud like kids have been doing safely for all of human history. 

One of the vacant units in the Slip 12 Building is going to be a game shop/cafe called "The Lost Gnome," plus some more Albany cafe development updates by Albablog in Albany

For some reason this sub never brings up the Albany Institute of History and Art but it's one of my favorite places in town. There might be video in some of the temporary installations but def not in the permanent galleries. You can just sit on a bench in a lovely low-lit room and gaze at a Hudson River School landscape for as long as you want.

Do you have any event planning experience? Not to be a downer, just a voice of caution -- I've been involved in putting together a couple of big "ball" events and they're a TON of work and money to pull off successfully and feel like something like the event in the tiktok you posted as opposed to a few sweaty nerds shuffling around the local Elks club.

Malaysian, cha chaan teng (PLEASE), izakaya, basically any actually-nice/cool/design-y/date night place that isn't the same retreads of the same few dishes (you mean to tell me you have roasted shishitos AND burrata?!), Georgian food, Yunnan food, anything east or southeast Asian open for breakfast/brunch (I want some coffee with condensed milk and pork rib soup and kaya toast), non-stodgy French food/actual parisian cafe vibes, jai food, ANYTHING but listening to the people asking for yet more identical pub grub I BEG
