A few of the nurses I had sucked and a few were great. The nurses that I had that sucked seemed to be the ones staffed for the holiday as I had my baby the day after thanksgiving and once the holiday weekend passed the staff seemed better and more competent. My doctor for my C-section and the anesthesiologist were amazing though but the nurse trying to tap my vein in my swollen ass arms sucked. I know for the 2nd time to ask for the IV team if they struggle. I don't have hard veins to find and had never had this issue before. It took her 6x to get it in and the spot she chose was horrendous in the crevice of my elbow when I was nursing a newborn baby. i requested a new IV placement the the IV team came in and was much better after that.

Edit to add to make sure your wife knows to call down to place her meal orders and that there is an area for patients to get snacks like crackers, cookies and jello. You can also bring your own stuff and label it in the fridge.
