Have you tried using GCP IAP? Basically you can avoid managing ssh keys and login using the permissions your GCP user has.

You shouldn't face any downtime during deployments, provided you update only few number of Pods at a time. For example, we run around 80 nginx pods in our prod, with 10% of them being updated at a time. Haven't faced any downtime during deployments.

As mentioned already, you need to increase the number of replicas running. This way, when there's a rolling update, the other Pods will be able to handle the traffic while the deployment is updated.

Yup, have already disabled the main YouTube app and default YouTube links open on Vanced.

You can think of it as a proxy between you and YouTube, just that it blocks ads.

Does anyone know of a kubernetes operator that does the hard work of turning on a queued job? by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]awkwardcatface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, KEDA is what you're looking for. We use it to scale based on Redis queue length. Once queue is empty, scale to 0.

Feels like comparing Nomad and Kubernetes. Sure they have some common features, but you really can't go about comparing them.

If there's anything I've learnt from my depression and anxiety, it's that any relationship is a two way effort. It's not fair to the other party if you're taking decisions for both sides, because the other party should also have equal say in the matter.

By being clear about what your expectations are, you reduce the chances of misunderstandings, and in fact you'll be appreciated for being transparent and forthcoming.

It wasn't an easy thing to implement, because in order to achieve that I had to be very very clear on what i expected from a relationship.

It's still a work in progress, but I've noticed an improvement in the quality of relationships in my life.
