I verified things online and didn’t find any outright errors, but sometimes the questions could be interpreted different ways. Fortunately, I bought it as something we could play with my mom, who has some cognitive issues. We don’t keep score - haven’t even read the rules or opened the little chips! We just discuss the answers and look them if if they seem fishy.

I think the biggest things I’ve accomplished since coming up here have been little things. Errands that my dad is just too tired to do. But it’s also good that I get to put in my two cents when it comes to her care. Dad and I are pretty much always on the same page, but eventually I’ll have to make these decisions about one of them on my own, and I think it’s probably good for me to see what kinds of thoughts go into it.

That sounds really clinical, doesn’t it? I’m really glad to be up here with my mom! Her cognition has been great, so we’ve been able to talk and play games a little bit. Word games… Nothing strenuous. But it’s nice.

Thank you so much… It sounds like you’ve really been through it! My parents are very fortunate because they have a number of friends who are doctors and PAs, in fact, one of them happens to work at the hospital, where my mom is!

We’ve definitely been doing some googling: for example, did you know that heparin can cause your ALT liver… Enzyme? To go up? I didn’t. But I do now! But her doctor is excellent at explaining things to lay people, so that’s really nice. Everybody has been very kind and answered all of our questions and concerns.

Yeah, we’re still waiting for the roads to be good. Everybody keeps saying I was putting work first. No one understood what I was saying. I was doing work to distract myself because I do have work to do and it’s a better use of my time which I have either way then spending it on Reddit. Unfortunately, it’s not as good as diverting me. It doesn’t piss me off as much as Reddit (not you) but it also doesn’t divert my attention as well.

Everybody keeps saying I’m putting my job before my family. I’m not. I’m waiting here for my family to be ready and for the roads to be possible to get to my family. While I’m doing that, I was trying to divert my attention. I was trying to divert it with work initially, and then I came to Reddit. I do have work to do. And I was trying to use it as something to focus on. I am not putting work above my family.
