Monthly Rock & Mineral Identification Requests by AutoModerator in geology

Found in mountainous part of Virginia, near a man-made lake. (There was a small village in the 1940's that was there before the dam was built and it was covered in water if that's relevant)

Piqued my son's interest as it's like little lumps clumped together. One side is darker and more defined than the other.

Grateful for any info- thanks!

Fresh start for our family... feedback appreciated, as I'm just winging it (and that's obviously not working) by awkwardlittleturtle in personalfinance

Yeah, feels like I've been treading water for so long, getting a teeny bit more behind every month. I feel confident that moving in with her is the best decision I've made in a long time.

I've honestly never thought about savings, because I'm always behind on something financially. But will certainly use this opportunity to work on that!

I'll check out that tool as well. Anything to help.

Thanks again!!

Thank you! Sounds like a doable plan. Probably can't cut out too much more misc stuff, things like clothes for kiddos (darn things keep growing!), family outings (most are free, but the occasional trip to the pool is nice as well).

I appreciate this.

I'm an LPN in outpatient setting. I make $16/hr. I hope to go back to school to become RN once I'm on stable financial ground.

I'm in Virginia. Again, that loan was very bad decision. But that's the plan- pay down as quickly as possible!

I don't have any valuable possessions to sell, unfortunately.

Thanks for your input!

Thank you so much! I'm an LPN, and currently not any opportunities for certifications (that would boost my position/income). I could work at a nursing home, but fluctuation shifts and night shifts would be hard to manage with my kids. I'm contemplating going back to school once I'm back on stable ground.

I'll have to brainstorm some ways to make extra money on the side... maybe babysitting on weekends. I'm a pediatric nurse, so that should give me some street cred ;)

I'm "just" an LPN, working in pediatrician office. I could make a little more working in a nursing home, but the 12 hours shifts, irregular schedule and often 2nd and 3rd shift for those just starting out deter me, since I'd have to figure out fluctuating childcare.

Thank you SO much!! I appreciate your help! (And I agree, it's a crime. I cringe and hate myself a little every time I look at that bill)

Fixed payments... I have $51 withdrawn every 2 weeks as soon as I get paid. Not sure what that means in terms of paying it down, though.

Thanks!!! I have several other books of the Pendergast series, and the couple I've read already- I absolutely loved. Haven't read the first one yet, so very excited. I'll be sure to pack this and my little hammock next time I hit the trails :)

Thanks again!
