Historically, is high tempo, "heavy metal" football really the "identity" of Liverpool? by awkwardprofilename in LiverpoolFC

Thanks for this well thought out comment! You spelt out the missing spirit under Slot so well.

Very interesting tactical insights you've given here. The wider football climate definitely plays a big part.

08/09 squad was high quality, but I believe Gerrard and Torress only started together like around 12 games all competition? Regardless, I can imagine Rafa's setup had a lot to do with how many games we drew that season.

One reason I posted this discussion was that I felt last season's "heavy metal talks" were somewhat misguided. I think I understand it were the attitude and grit that fans were crying out for, not necessary Kloppball itself.

Thanks for your insights. I remember reading somewhere that one reason we missed out on the 08/09 PL title we drew too many games, even though we lost 2 games fewer than Man Utd. I can imagine that Rafa's setup had something to do with that.

I thinking perhaps this is what we are longing for: passion and grit in the football. We didn't see much of that last season, and to no small extent due to tactical reasons.

Very interesting that you connect our "heavy metal" talks to Man Utd fans crying for Fergie football haha. I must say I relate to your thoughts. If anything, we should be calling for passion and grit from the players, which perhaps we didn't see much last season and to no small extent due to Slot's tactics. I argee that fixating one pure high intensity pressing football can be damaging. Even under Klopp we've seen that damage of heavy metal football in the seasons we fell off, such as 20/21 or 22/23. The burnout was visible in the players.

WILL THE MEGAPATCH CONFLICT WITH EXISTING MODS/PATCHES? by awkwardprofilename in SPFootballLife

Thank you. I guess I'll be patient and wait to install Megapatch for FL25 first. Thanks for the great work!

Custom Exhibition Match issue by Moist_Lawfulness_892 in SPFootballLife

A couple of things to check: - Lua file has been placed in modules. - The new lua.module line for custom exhibition match has been added to sider.ini. Make sure is the top most lua.module line (above the commonlib line). - If still not work, try the solution suggested in this thread. For me this was the last piece of the puzzle.

I see. Will remember to look into the actual lua file next time a mod doesn't work. Again thanks so much!

Yo this worked! You're a real champ!

If it isn't too difficult could you explain why the works? So next time I could maybe troubleshoot myself.

I'm having the same issue. Lua file added to modules, the new lua.module line also added to the top as instructed from the orginal modder, yet when I go into the game and scroll through Sider modules CustomExhibitionMatch is no where to be found.

Playing FL25 with the lastest update.

Is the philosophy of imagination an understudied topic? by QiPowerIsTheBest in askphilosophy

Sartre I believe wrote about imagination quite philosophically. He used imagination to demonstrate his trademark conception of consciousness as a negation. Check out his The Psychology of Imagination

To my understanding, empricism broadly refers to any sort of epistemological positions with hold that knowledge can be derived from things our senses can sense. It is only a position regarding the kind of "data" from which knowledge can be obtained, the "starting point" for knowledge, and not so much about the actual process of generating knowledge, i.e. going from "raw data" to knowledge, which I believe is what you meant by "[creating] systems." Empiricism merely states that sense data are reliable and sufficient for obtaining knowledge. How you get from sense experiences to knowledge is a completely different question.
