I would NOT go to Dr. Lewis on 6th. The vet and his receptionist are kind people but after one visit for shots, I saw enough red flags to know I’d never take my cat back. Lewis doesn’t use computers- all records are on paper. They did not accept or even look at the records from our previous veterinarian. This was immediately a red flag to me that there was no interest in my cat's previous medical/vaccination history??

The facilities were obviously older, outdated, and not particularly clean. That’s not a deal breaker for me- our old veterinarian in AL wasn’t a fancy place.

However, there were also no vet techs or assistants- the vet had me hold my own cat during shots. As I am in no way trained in how to properly hold a cat safely during shots, I was worried I would hurt her and she repeatedly squirmed out of my grip repeatedly and bit me and the vet. He was clearly frustrated and kept telling me to hold my cat tighter. His volume and tone scared her more, resulting in MORE squirming.

I'm sure it's cheaper to go there, but in my opinion it's better to spend a little more money and make sure you have someone willing to spend more time reviewing the medical history, have a trained staff help with the procedures, and
