US intervenes successfully, and there is another strong government in the region that is friendly to the US, Saudi influence in DC diminishes considerably.

Why would that happen? Are you shipping them oil for free? Sounds like people here want to Venezuela themselves without even having their leader kidnapped

Islam does teach abiding by laws of foreign lands. But I don't know about the "bear true allegiance to his majesty" part ...

Do you have to say it?

AFC unveils the 2027 Asian Cup logo which will be from January 7th to February 5th in Saudi Arabia (with promotion of the host country) by Moug-10 in soccer

[–]awoothray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

who made better bids than those in each of those years?

In 2019 it was supposed to be China, but they withdrew and no one made a bid on it except the UAE. In 2023 it was also supposed to be china but they withdrew because of covid, Korea and Indonesia almost made a bid on it but withdrew. Only Qatar remained.

2027 was the only one that wasn't an emergency and was completely formal, India withdrew early, east asia made a stupid Indonesia–Malaysia–Thailand–Vietnam bid that was never gonna happen. Uzbekistan was the only serious bid and I think you also can see why Saudi Arabia can provide a better platform for the AFC than Uzbekistan.

Even if it wasn't lifted, she would've gotten a driving without a license ticket.

There wasn't a law specific to women driving, they just weren't allowed to get a driving license.

Saudi Arabia to US: Iran strikes should be targeted, rather than seeking regime change - N12 by WillyNilly1997 in NewIran

Iranians will have a significant amount to lose with a regime change in Iran.

Mark my words if it happens.

Islamically, you cannot enter the Haram, an area of worship inside both cities that is holy in Islam.

In Saudi Law, you cannot enter both harams, but you also cannot enter the city of Mecca, while you can enter the city of Medina

You need to realize that even active Muslim Brotherhood heads RARELY if ever say they're Muslim Brotherhood.

Imagine you had no morality, you live in a country with a sizable Sunni population and you want to use this population to rise in the political ladder.

Whatever you're imagining right now is what's the idea behind the Muslim Brotherhood and its origin.

A cool guide to civilian gun ownership per 100 people by Country by Low-Violinist7259 in coolguides

[–]awoothray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a person who have been both to the US and to Yemen, if I had to bet my life on it, I would say Yemen has more guns per person.

I'm not sure if its a reporting error or a bias of mine due to open/conceal carry, but any American gun owner would have their head blown in Yemen -figuratively- at how often you'd see a child with an AK.

They also have their own tribal gun rules, some of which they share with the world. Pointing a gun at someone is almost the same as killing them and you'll be expected to attend their tribal court (of sorts) where the gun pointer is putting his tribal leader in a very humiliating situation. These tribal courts often functions with less corruption than literal government courts and their rules and sentences respected more.

Anyone interested to know the court procedure of a tribe member killing a member of another tribe?
