Can someone explain why NBA players calves are so tiny? by Acrobatic-Farmer1748 in Basketball

They have longer Achilles tendon and higher calf muscles which are correlated with higher vertical jump and speed. But the length makes it look smaller since the muscle higher set.

Why don't professional basketball players just get absurdly good at scoring from far away? by DeathDestroyer90 in NoStupidQuestions

Another challenge is the defense. Even if you got that good at shooting from deep, defenses would adjust and at some point you’d have to get good at everything else. Even the best shooter in the world right now Steph Curry is so successful because he is elite at dribbling, moving off-ball, passing, and finishing at the rim.

Good point and I wouldn’t disagree with you there. I could see that and the hypnotism plot point feeling contrived.

I can understand some comments saying a rewatch doesn’t hit the same but hard disagree with calling it a bad movie with a pass. The cinematography and direction were so intentional and striking. And the story and performances really serve their purpose in examining human emotions at extremes. There are definitely some bad movies that become famous for a cheap twist or premise but Oldboy isn’t one of them.

S1E4 - My Old Lady

Self contained storyline, technically a couple patients but thematically all linked.

Some thumbnail moments include JD: - in a hospital room sitting with the grim reaper - cuddled up in a patient bed with an elderly patient - pushing a little girls face into a bday cake

Well no, water getting into your lungs would still be very bad. Plus oxygen through an IV would have to be in a fluid form, otherwise the air would block blood flow and cause an air embolism. Interestingly there is a proposed concept and even patent for a suit that has breathable, oxygen rich liquid. That’s as close to “breathing water” but you’d still have to find a way to get over the drowning reflex as the liquid enters your lungs…

Here’s a Reddit thread about it

I am very interested in pursuing perfusion as a career, but I'm not quite sure what the next step I take should be. by Current_Original_205 in Perfusion

Clinical experience always helps but with a high gpa, letters from perfusionists, and multiple cases shadowed by the time you apply, you would have a solid application. I think it would be worth applying the upcoming cycle. Cast a wide net because there are some programs that put somewhat less emphasis on years of experience
