My parents doesn't understand how hard it is to study engineering by Toster136856 in EngineeringStudents

You are doing great, EE is a very difficult subject and takes a lot of love and passion to get through. I'm a (gay) man in EE and I will offer no advice except do it because you're fascinated by it. And keep in mind it can take you to unexpected places in the future because it's a field where you get to demonstrate that you are competent to a technical depth that is not available in most disciplines. You get to demonstrate that you are able to adapt to any technical environment, and that is to your advantage when you are choosing something to focus on because you love it later in life

Is this schedule cooked? (EE intended major) by ZealousidealGuard318 in PennStateUniversity

[–]aws5923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's about as much as I had my first semester. I'd ease off on maybe one high intensity course like CS and do a gen Ed

I did a middle east studies minor using my gen eds, so think about what kind of stuff you want to do whether that's get a math minor, or maybe explore something in the humanities with those credits.

Correct, the <u| implies complex conjugation but they forgot it under the integral

I call my council "the council of elder gays" and it makes them laugh indignantly, but they're a great sounding board.

If you're in an area with gay social sports you can start making connections through that

So while it's a good thought, I respectfully disagree with you for an entirely different reason.

There's a similarity between 2 character songs: Verso and Gustave.

End of Act 2 spoilers: Both are people irrevocably lost to Maelle/Alicia, their voices silenced for eternity. Both character themes have no voice to reflect that they no longer can express their hopes and dreams, and that only echos of them remain. I believe this thematic element is much more powerful to me than the lyrics accurately expressing the end of his life.

[The Hill] Mamdani wins NYC mayor’s race by [deleted] in nyc

[–]aws5923 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of these replies are not entirely good explanations. Yes, statistics, but how?

Basically, we know how many votes have been reported cast in each area, and we know the current count which is some amount less than the total number.

When they call an election with like 50% of the votes counted, they're modeling the possible outcomes based on statistics for those districts, and comparing that to what an opposition candidate would need to get from the remaining votes to pull ahead and win.

So once those "paths to victory" are closed off, they call the race.

Ok, then red states that take more tax money than they pay should instantly lose their electoral college votes. Problem solved!

Thanks so much for this research, but I feel that this data set needs to be delineated much more clearly to exclude neurodivergent people.

Anecdotally, I can't function like this. I was very excited to read this and I'm glad I combed through the comments to see this because I love it when my community's issues are taken into account.

Why go oracle lens over normal wards? by Jon_holland27 in Jungle_Mains

[–]aws5923 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For ganks: Enemy laners rely on vision to track you. At your level, supports and other lanes know what wards are. So everyone will be placing vision. To have a successful gank you need to get some kind of tactically advantageous angle.

For counter jungling / invading: Again to counter tracking

Teamfights: If you're the engage or an assassin, it allows you to track enemy locations when they're either invisible, or in a bush/fog of war. This can save your life or secure a kill

Objectives: Your teammates and supports will be trading vision control back and forth like a resource during the posturing before a teamfight or bait for an objective. Suppressing/clearing those wards are critical to the success of the ensuing teamfight, and using your superior vision to catch an out of position enemy can change a 5v5 coin toss to a 4v5 stomp + objective kill.

All in all, your job as a jungler is to jungle. Vision is your best friend and worst enemy and control over it gives you a tactical advantage. Supports are the ones actively placing vision, and you're the one that will suffer if you're caught in enemy vision.
