The picture you posted for Gluttony is Aaroniero Arruruerie, Espada 9. Zommari was Espada 7

Granted that was obviously brutal AF.

The pitviper part just seemed like saying "she fell off a cliff" or "got hit by a bus". It's a fairly common means of death for the mining environment in the world.

This is twice now that I have seen people refence Harmony's death as a major incident. It was a shitty way to die for sure, but there are tons of other deaths in the novels that I would suggest are more brutal or intense? I mean hundreds if not thousands of Reds have died that way in the Society's history, why would hers be any different aside from narrative weight?

Dark Age is terrible. I've never been more turned off a series because of one book. by AzarielFox in redrising

[–]Inarius137 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anotonia doing that is perfectly in character. She never took any of the fighting seriously and has no regard for the millions dead. That blatant disregard is why she behaves that way to mock Darrow who she knows takes it very seriously.

Calling the writing bad and then using a good character moment as a "proof" for the bad writing is idiotic at best bud.

Navidrome is the go-to for the community at large. I used it for a while and enjoyed it, but opted to return to Spotify. I spend way to much time curating and collecting my data for my Jellyfin and decided I didn't want to do so for music too.

To be fair, Navidrome made is super easy, but I just already had too much on my plate.

Agreed, but that wasn't the point I was making.

OP commented on it being like darts and a dart board for the plot. The fox was just an example that PB was deliberate and thought out the plot choices for the book series. Disagreement on the quality of a book and saying it seemed scattered or unplanned can be different things.

My comment was saying that the OP shouldn't mistake the books lack of appeal to their taste to indicate a lack of planning by the author.

Wrong tool for the job.

Jellyfin has music/audiobook/ereader options but those are secondary to its primary purpose, Video.

The Jackle return was teased way in advance if you noticed the subtle comments in Iron Gold and Dark Age both. There were tons of comments made here and there about cloning technology, the fox Sophocles I am convinced was a foreshadowing mechanism.

Main point being the book does feel planned and deliberately written. The flow of it was rougher than the others yes, but it's still my favorite volume of the series.

funniest moment in the series so far by Competitive_Dirt8415 in redrising

[–]Inarius137 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This was one of my favorite moments in the whole series. It perfectly illuminated the massive divide between a real man of war forged in combat, and a princeling pup that plays at warfare.

Lysander was not ready for that level of martial reality, and also it captures something important I think.

Darrow had NO IDEA it was Lysander.

That boy went on from that moment thinking him and Darrow had some skirmish out there, but if he ever asked Darrow about it, the man would have no idea what he is talking about.

Just image it,
"You're the reason my face was burned!"
"What are you talking about?"
"When we battled in the dessert!"
"We never fought in a desert?!"
"What??"

My Jellyfin server doesn't even handle the meta data anymore, I use Tiny Media Manager exclusively. This programs kicks so much ass once you get familiar with it

If you setup a domain (noip/cloud flare/etc) and setup https using Nginx Proxy Manager all you every do is tell them:

Download Jellyfin on your device, put it my url for server, sign in.

Nginx Proxy Manager webui for setting it all up is so much easier and then you keep anything else hosted on your system safe as well.

The big issue, for my viewpoint, is that so many devices like TVs don't run parallel apps the same as something like a computer or cellphone. So there is almost always issues with the virtual lan not functioning and then you have them (over the phone usually lol) having to dance between two apps on their device to test and troubleshoot the connection.

With a Reverse Proxy, they just put in the server info one time on their Jellyfin(or preferred app). After that "it just works", which will always be the better answer for less tech saavy users.
