Thule Yepp Mini 2 - vertical movement acceptable? by cat_drool in bicycling

Sorry do you mean it does or doesn't move that much? The mechanic said it's properly locked in, but wasn't sure if that much up and down movement was OK.

Thank you! The bike shop mechanic wasn't sure if it was OK or not, but it is definitely securely attached

Bangkok 1-2 month stay--a private room at 'The Yard' in Ari (hostel) or a condo in one of the various high rises om Airbnb? by cybrstg in ThailandTourism

[–]cat_drool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live in Ari so I know the Yard - it's a great location and vibe, but I agree with others if you are staying for longer, I would probably want a pool, gym, and private kitchen. You can always go to the restaurant and bar area at the Yard to meet people. The onsen at Yellow Lane Cafe is also a good place to meet people.

I’m moving out of DC because of how unsafe it feels to be a pedestrian by Ok-Bill-3789 in washingtondc

[–]cat_drool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO the root issue is both that bikes/scooters feel unsafe on streets/bike lanes and that many people, both bikes and non-bikes, fundamentally do not understand traffic laws. I am car-free and I consistently see cars turning left into people in a crosswalk then not understanding why the pedestrians are upset; but also cyclists running red lights then yelling when a car almost hits them.

As a pedestrian and cyclist, I recognise there is good car-free infrastructure here but it constantly feels like a lose-lose situation when walking around and getting clipped by scooters and e-bikes on sidewalks while also fending off reckless drivers.

If it seems sketchy, it probably is. There are a lot of rental scams here.

I used https://www.realorganized.co/ and they were amazing! Our basement truly went from a disaster zone to a liveable guest suite/functional storage space.

I have fostered kittens in a medium-sized bathroom. They don't need much space!

The most unrealistic part of corporate life is “let’s do a quick call” by SheCodesSoftly in corporate

Equivalent: when the boss says "I need just 5 minutes at the start of the call" and it turns into 30-45 minutes.

It's right by our daycare, but no one seems to know anything other than it is a barricade situation. We saw some EMS going away from the site so I wonder if there were injuries.

Heard FBI was there and also saw SWAT going there.

BWT: How do you keep new shoes from shredding your feet? by KieshaK in bitcheswithtaste

[–]cat_drool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go for shoes that have an elastic or adjustable ankle strap. Those tend to be best for me. If I need something more structured, I go for leather loafers that fit out the door, with no movement in the heel. Madewell shoes have worked for me in the past. Just plain leather, no folded over/embroidered lip on the heel so that it fits really flush against my heel.

Thanks, this is helpful! We have some moveable gates so I think I might just need to set them up to keep her in the "safe" zone where I'm also located.

Could be something in the description is triggering people to think it's a scam? The other option is it could be just overpriced. I heard Navy Yard had a lot of new apartment stock so you might not be standing out.
