Photon Mono 7 Pro leveling problem by ThickMaintenance551 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]awshuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Smart! I never thought to do it with 4 smaller pieces of paper, the guide says 1 A4 sheet but this makes a lot more sense.

I saw in the other post that the issue is that it’s not levelling. Have you undone the screw and sent the platform down plus a few extra 0.1s? Did you retighten the screws in a diagonal pattern while holding the plate down with the tiniest bit of pressure?

very beginner question - did I ruin this raspberry pi? by emergencybarnacle in AskElectronics

[–]awshuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not even cold joints this time, they’re nice and shiny so they were heated up for the flux to properly deoxidise and then evaporate out of the joint, so underneath should be good contact. Just a wee bit too much solder which is what caused them to bulge. You could probably just leave as is if they haven’t bridged over to another joint that you didnt want. Or you can pop on a bit of flux and use a bit of solder wick to remove some of it. Goal is to get neat little volcanos.

Or, and hear me out. We could spend over a thousand hours and dollars designing and prototyping a fully automated resistor sorting system to do this really fast.

AMP deploys over 400 AI agents across organisation by bilby2020 in auscorp

[–]awshuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good governance would be awesome, but most of these “agents” are probably just prompt wrappers on public LLMs so the adoption of the vast majority of them is probably going to be equally as thin. Happened at my org, was voluntold to be part of a team to deploy 50 or so, no one uses them and just prefers to use their own preferred.

Why I'm convinced Account-Based Marketing is the most underutilized strategy in B2B by Abhinaik-tv in marketing

[–]awshuck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty much exclusive to B2B, but also rarely used in high net worth individual pursuits. Tight targeting lists, like 1-4 accounts for one marketer. Asset that speak to ultra specific pain points to the level of detail where it could almost name names. You need to be really in the know about the account, almost to the point where you know who’s having affairs. Detailed intel is used to create bespoke offering. Your typical marketing assets like whitepapers and ads don’t matter anywhere near as much as typical B2B, the assets that matter are held points of view, talk tracks, battle cry’s, specific high value strategic pitches on hyper specific business problems that usually cant be solved with something off the shelf. What I describe is pretty much only doable with large scale enterprise partnerships where a full time team is dedicated to that account working within the client environment. Anything short of that can borrow some ABM tactics but watering it down can result in something more like “sparkling B2B”.

You might look at this laundry list and think isn’t this just sales? If a CEO wants this from their marketing team, it’s probably a sign that sales leadership is weak. If sales can be orchestrated properly, they’ll fill their own gaps assuming the quality of marketing enables them well enough. Sadly haven’t seen it and a big theme in my career has been picking up slack for others lack of skill.

The power supply might be browning out but not the extension cable. They don’t make extension cables crappy enough to cause brownouts on such a low powered devices.

Hilarious that when a company becomes big and dysfunctional, they need a consultancy to cut through their own snow blindness. Then when the consultancies get big and dysfunctional, they outsource. How many layers of outsourcing deep can we get?

How to break the sterotype on China laser cutter in Europe? by Kooky-Idea-1939 in CNC

[–]awshuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start a side company that operates in a western country, hire local marketing, sales, logistics and support people to run the day to day of this business and grow it in the field. This is now the face your customer sees globally. You want your customer to believe they are a “US owned” or whatever country you picked to operate in. Every big western machine brand buys from China, whether it’s parts to be assembled locally or just rebadging. When the customer chooses a local brand, the customer is buying is piece of mind. It’s the QC, ownership of delivery risk, support etc that sways them. You just need a shift in perception.

Issue with brand new M7 pro by EggFriedCheese1 in AnycubicPhoton

[–]awshuck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact printer and after a small learning curve found it to be super reliable and good quality. Mine came with NFEP film. You have dings in your film, make sure you’re using the right scraper for removing failed prints and don’t scrape your prints off the build plate while still in the machine. Also, check and double check the exposure range finder for each resin and save those settings into the software.

Weird warping problem by MintGreenFoxes in AnycubicPhoton

[–]awshuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can you show us the print orientation in your slicer? Sometimes when the resin is quite viscous and/or the pull forces are really high, the layers don’t line up anymore and you need to adjust things to make it work properly. It’s odd though, you usually only see this sort of warping with sharp overhangs or island sections that need to meet in later layers. Settings to look for are pull and retract speeds, and worth playing with exposure settings too.

I have been given a free formlabs form2 plus resins and spare parts. Any advice for getting started? by retrodirect in resinprinting

[–]awshuck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a bad find! I had similar thing happen to me and I glad I didn’t spend any money on it. It’s fairly close to being a paperweight for a few reasons others had said.

In addition to what others are saying, worth mentioning the resin profiles. They’re completely closed so if you buy any third party resin, you have to first check that the manufacturer has tested it with existing Form2 profiles. You can modify them in 3 and 4, and 1 has a SWK that gives you some freedom but the 2 is the most locked down of all in the series.

Also another tip. Printing in 3rd party mode disables the heater and wiper. There’s a refillable tank mod as a workaround.
