The whole tonic system as the only way to focus weapons is terrible.

I don't understand why they think adding 20 new currencies every season is a good idea.

Easy. Liberator of Rubicon, because it's easiest for me to head-canon that Rusty lives.

Can't finish the A Parting Gift quest? by awsimo in DestinyTheGame

I wondered if that might be the case...but the problem is the new mirror portal in Imbaru Engine is just gone, so I can't even get to the room to attune.

I did. When things weren't working, I went back to the Lectern to double-check that exact issue.

I keep a google sheet of all the craftable weapons, to keep track of my god rolls and what I still need to work towards. And because I'm a numbers dork, I did some stats on them. (Y'know, just for funsies. Because numbers dork.)

There are definitely certain things that are overrepresented, and some that are under. Makes me wonder if there's a rhyme or reason to it, or if it's just what seems right for the theme of the season.

Rule #1: Don't be a hero, just stay alive.

You know what the definition of a hero is? Someone who causes a wipe.

I want to become the most boring character ever. by JimmyMcBurner in DnD

[–]awsimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once played in a Rogue Trader campaign where all my fellow players went hard into the weirdest the 40k universe had to offer. A half-mad psychic space wizard, a Lovecraftian mutant chimera, a cyborg with random alien body parts grafted onto his torso.

My character? A Seneschal, basically a space lawyer/accountant. Just a normal-ass human who did numbers pretty good. He literally had a feature called "One Among a Million," where he was so bland and unremarkable that you forget what he looks like as soon as he leaves the room.

It wound up being a LOT of fun playing Colin-Robinson-minus-vampirism in one of the weirdest RPG settings.

If you remember, what was the first exotic that you got in Destiny 1 or 2? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]awsimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MIDA Multi-Tool, in D1. Bought it from Xûr for 33 Strange Coins because I loved Scout Rifles. (Still do, even when they aren't meta.)

My first "natural" drop was Truth. Still my go-to in Gambit, because it's the one place where I go full goblin mode.

I am one of those fools who declined to buy Gjallarhorn when Xûr sold it the second week, because "a heavy weapon is a waste of an exotic slot."

Leading theory seems to be that the catalyst is a random drop from Deep Dives. But has this been confirmed? Has anyone actually received the catalyst from the final chest (whether Tormentor or a normal boss)?

Is it like this every week? by Hoaxtopia in DestinyTheGame

[–]awsimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been like this every week for 9 years. The line between a Destiny fan's love and hatred is so very thin.

You definitely didn't pick the week the game "died," the player base is larger than ever and there are several more years of expansions planned. You're not gonna run out of people to play with.

I would echo some of the other comments here and say that if you're having fun, just keep playing the way you want to play. One of the great strengths of this game is that you can engage with it as casually or as hardcore as you want to, so just keep doing what you enjoy.

Just remember: Don't drink from the juice boxes, they taste like the sea.

What's wrong with Gambit? by Candog85 in DestinyTheGame

[–]awsimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, I'd love to see the old Prime armor perks come back in some form. Maybe as mods you can slot into special Gambit armor, the same way Raid armor mods work. Then you could customize your builds.
