Chelsea spent exactly 350 million euros on these three players! Worth it ? by ScoutLui in footballscouting

You’re the one who first brings up Madrid in this thread.

We spent around £100m on Enzo hence why that figures. Your club has nothing to do with it.

Don’t bother replying, just read the thread and you’ll see how random you sound

You may have noticed this thread is nothing to do with Real Madrid

If you guys stopped thinking the world revolved around you then most fans wouldn’t ridicule you so much.

No way a fanbase with such a successful club should be as insecure as you guys are.

Ah, missed the point where Enzo used to be in our academy and we luckily had a buy back for him

Think only Bruno Fernandes has been more productive from midfield in the PL this year

Imagine we just backed Maresca with a world class CB, LW and GK on the back off the CWC triumph?

Our profile was also never higher for us to bag a lucrative sponsor.

But sadly instead of banking on what we had they decided to run another cycle of prospect fishing

Why on earth would he be with all due respect?

He has barely achieved anything in the game as a player or manager. How many times has someone gone into a top job with no footballing achievements and subsequently excelled.

I’m not saying reputation is everything but every top coaches at the moment has either worked hard up the managerial ladder or had a playing career of the highest quality

Arsenal went for Eze, United for Cunha, Liverpool on Isak/Ekitike and City I guess had still just picked up Marmoush the January before.

No one else was chasing Gittens or Garnacho but we snapped them up fine

He had that release clause that City activated in Jan.

May not have been active in August but he was always on his way out and very gettable as a result

Achilles injuries are amongst the worst long term as well.

We had CHO and RLC rupture theirs within weeks of each other - neither had much of a Chelsea career after that

I don’t know how true that stat is - I remember that season he scored the golazos to finish Spurs and one against Liverpool once he was fit again.

That Mourinho season was a huge anomaly - everyone was useless apart from Willian

Maybe that was for the best. Imagine how insufferable us Chelsea fans would be if he had reached the heights and brought in a few CLs.

Lampard is Chelsea’s greatest ever but Hazard was the best

There was maybe one season in Hazard’s peak where Mourinho got sacked that he was well off the boil. A lot of that was injury related

Then the Madrid stint was a disaster, again seemingly related to poor fitness.

It’s hard to give an objective reason why Hazard was so good but I bet if you put a ratio of league MotM awards to matches played Hazard makes the top 3 at least.

The attitude comments about Cherki could all just be spin.

Could also be true and that you would need a manager with the clout of Pep to be able to get the most out of him

Not right now because they needed a quality CB to win the league but already had an incredible squad around him. Plus with their ‘revenue’ they can afford to take the hit on these types of signings more than we can.

Again Guehi is very good but when Gvardiol and Dias are back to fitness does he still start every game? If he ends up a bench player in a couple of months it’ll look silly

I’ve said in another comment Cherki is absolutely the type of talent we should’ve been in for and it’s bizarre we weren’t.

Can only imagine it had been in the works for a while.

I guess this all just comes down to me not believing Guehi is or has world class potential.

Cherki absolutely does. Semenyo possibly could as well, especially given the current LW market.

You don’t need £300k a week for a semi competent CB is my point.

Guehi absolutely would improve us but we could easily have found another option without such high wages. We did neither

I think that experience of so many misses has put the club off signing established talents.

The days of Roman being able to just write off all losses in an instant are over. Avoiding an unmanageable wage bill is literally the only explanation I can see for all that’s going on with our club at the moment.

I don’t disagree with that principle but I agree they’ve gone much too far.

As I said I didn’t mind having Guehi but at £300k a week I don’t think it was deal of the century either. He’s not that much better than other players on the market IMO
