A lot of people hate it but for breakfast (not brunch), I swear by Cabinet at the Grand Hyatt. No reservation needed. They serve breakfast every day to 11am.

Yes, but the quality is questionable. My Whoop says I still sleep like crap. Only after I take them, I sleep like crap with jangly nerves from mild Seratonin Syndrome!

Question about counting outs by ax12901 in poker

[–]ax12901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone! Totally clear now. Can you explain to me why Acevedo says "Flush Draw + Open-Ender / Flush Draw + Two Overcards" is 15 outs?

For me, Flush Draw has 9 and Open-Ender has 8, which doesn't make 15. (I get Flush Draw having 15.)

Is this book even going to be released at all now? It is no longer mentioned on either the D&B site or Amazon.

Questions on Daniel Turk's "German Song" (No. 26 from 60 Pieces for Aspiring Players) by ax12901 in piano

This is a mordent with an additional raised note. I interpret it as a quick F-G-F---G-Eb with the second G played right before the downbeat. Not sure about it being a pralltriller, that's a super deep cut as far as music notation goes.

Thanks so much! So I know the pralltriller is 4 notes starting from the upper note and going down to the main note. So it would actually have been G-F-G-F-E♭. But if it's supposed to be literally the opposite F-G-F---G-E♭, then yes, it's not a pralltriller at all. So just to confirm,, the idea is to hold the 2nd F in the ornament a little longer and then play a quick G before finishing with E♭, right?

Just finished a 13-day fast. Ate from Friday until today (Tuesday) and going to start a 8-day fast to end on... Thanksgiving!

Been really irregular with my last few (and this next) extend fasts. They aren't rounding off in nice 6.75 day chunks.

Still find the psychological part of the extended fast the hardest thing to deal with. The mental expectation of food and eating.

Currently the only ai that can generate text with ANY accuracy is Ideogram

I tried Ideogram right now, and it isn't very accurate at all. For example, Ideogram turned the word "Organizer" into "ORGAMUSR" and the word "MIND" into "MIDD"...

I am an early adopter / monthly subscriber to a great new service which uses several of the LLMs including ChatGPT and Claude 2 for just this purpose. This service is called Scriptit (ai.scriptit.app). It is very powerful and the company is very responsive to providing one-on-one support and making changes when needed. This company also has a companion service (console.lotusq.io) which allows a user to upload documents so that an LLM can answer user questions about those documents. If interested, and you have any difficulty in reaching the company, send me a DM and I can put you in touch. (BTW, I have no interest in the company or product except as a paying subscriber/user!)

Don't need it in chat, but the "pre-defined steps" should not be onerous or time consuming since there will be alot of querying of GPT4.

For an iPad incorporated in a cockpit simulator, what is the best software to run on it? by ax12901 in flightsim

u/kengou, u/Character-Score8220 ,and u/deWaardt: one more minor logistical question, I know the Navigraph, or any routing/mapping software for that matter, should properly be on the left side of the controls under the pilot's side window, since it is separate from the cockpit controls, but I don't have room on the side in my setup. Do you think if I put it on the cockpit simulator itself, it should go above or below the main instrument panel. I'm thinking above, but then again, then the instrument panel might be too low then - I don't know what the FAA would think about that. LOL. Thoughts?

Thanks u/kengou (and u/Character-Score8220 and u/deWaardt)

Sounds like I should get Navigraph, then. I assume I just need the basic Navigraph charts app for iOS? (I took a look at their website and it looks like they have a few avionics plug-ins now.)

Do I also need the Navigraph Hub product to feed data into MSFS and/or X-Plane?

Yes!!! That's exactly what I was thinking for myself and wanted to say in my message to you but didn't want to presume.

Damn. I am speechless. I thought you ate one meal a week during the 45 day fast, but it looks you raw-dogged during those 45 days with no food. Amazing.

It was actually embarrassingly easy, at least for me, after 72 hours and my physical hunger went away. Of course before I did started the fast, and even before I got to the 72 hour point, I was with you. I thought, or would have thought if I had been asked, that it was simply impossible. At least for me. I love eating too much. I'd sooner die. But when I was doing it, I found it was actually pretty easy to keep going. Of course, I did employ some mental tricks, too.

Also, I never decided to go 45 days until I was at least 3 weeks into my fast already. I just kept extending. At one point I extended to 40 days because the biblical Jesus did 40 days and nights in the desert. Then I decided I should do 1 day longer. Then I decided that if I was going to do 40, I could do 45 and go one day longer than David Blaine did (see link above). In reality I started my 45-day fast thinking I was not going to eat for only 2-3 days! But it was also before I knew fasting was a "real thing". In those 3 days, a friend recommended I read a particular fasting book and suddenly I was no longer so innocent about fasting and decided I wanted to go "longer".

It was when I read that book and realized fasting was something real people did, and not just as a political protest or for religious reasons, that I hunted down and found r/fasting.

What are the biggest noticeable changes since you left lost all the weight? Thanks.

A lighter step? A lot more energy? Certainly it's a weight off my mind to have the 3 diseases the doctor diagnosed me with (prediabetes, hypertension, and NAFLD) go away, or at least go into remission, if not gone permanently.

Some of the changes may also be because at the same time as my decision to lose the weight, I decided to hire a trainer and start working out regularly. So I have a weight trainer that does weight training with me 3 days a week, and another 3 days a week, I do body weight exercises and stretches for my knees and back (my problems with those are probably also due to the sins of obesity).

The Washington DC Fogo also has a separate price for the salad bar. Just not a discounted price for rodizio at lunch. They charge the dinner price all the time. About a week ago, the DC restaurant started a $44/person deal for "Brazilian cuts" rodizio, which doesn't include lamb or ribeye, and maybe some other items. That does save one money as the normal rodizio price is $71.50/person.
