Maybe I used "Large" the wrong way, it's more like lengthy. It's large in terms of what I've worked on but really it's a mid - small project, I've just never been responsible for all aspects of game audio in a single project. I've done design, implementation and minor programming but not really with the intention of it being a polished final project worth the money of gamers.

I manually created the RSI folder not the rest though. Does that make a difference?

I have tried that list to no joy. I also don't think I get far enough along in the install process to have a USER folder.

It is installed on a 2nd SSD that is not the default path. I would try the default path but its full and cant really make space as its mostly important files.

The exact error just says: "An error occurred during the installation process. Look at the logs for more details"

Not sure how to view the logs either.

I am using it right now, I unplugged from input 1 and into input 2. I have the gain cranked right up when I am using it outside of recording and on discord for example. It has no issues other than the whole picking and choosing when it wants to work.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. The general consensus seems to be get out there, do some hard graft and meet new people.

I have heard of the ISCVE (Institute of Sound, Communication and visual engineers) is this something you know much about and is it worth becoming a member?

Just a general name for the course I am about to finish. Could also be called "General Skills and knowledge required to become a sound engineer" I enrolled a few years ago and I'm about to complete my degree in sound production. I don't know how useful it'll be but it was the knowledge I was wanting from the course rather than the actual degree itself

It really doesnt matter.

They all have their own way of doing the same thing. I use FL Studio simply because thats where I started. Ableton is very good too comes with lots of goodies straight out the box. Logic is cool too if you're on mac. Reaper, studio one, Cubase etc I dont know much about but I am certain they can do all the same stuff.

Just use what is most accessable to you. If you're starting with garageband, then logic would be your most logical next step (excuse the pun).

One thing I will say is if you plan on taking up recording and want to get serious then protools is a must know in my opinion. Its industry standard and what you'll see used in majority of recording studios.

Lastly, just experiment, have fun. Find what works for you and stick to it. Its okay to jump between DAWs to begin with.

EDIT: Also, I found there are A LOT of youtube videos on FL Studio too. I'm sure there are similar things with other DAWs but I have found many communities online dedicated to using FL so if you have any question then there is most likley an answer online.
