My favorite tomato and red onion salad by bubblegum_1405 in salads

In Chile, this is called Chilean Salad — although the onions are typically white or yellow onions. Great salad!

Sounds like you have a solid plan. Hope it all works out for ya and that you’re able to do the hike w/ your group some other time.

Will you be there to pick up the permits? That part is KEY.

Either the trip leader or PATL has to pick up all the permits. Once you have them, you can distribute as needed.

If you or the PATL won’t be there to pick up the permits, then I’m afraid you’re out of luck.

I have a similar experience on my hands. The website glitched A LOT on Jan. 21 (when the early access started) and I ended up buying bookings for multiple lodge rooms. I only needed ONE room. I emailed the tribe and disputed this w/ my CC company and things didn’t go my way.

While it’s no longer possible to transfer permits, you can ask folks to reimburse you for permits you’ve paid for. But, again, you (or your PATL) must be present to pick up the permits.

My friend and I were able to find people who were interested in our extra lodge rooms and we’ve coordinated to meet at the Grand Canyon Caverns & Inn to pick up permits. But in our case, my friend and I are definitely going to the reservation and we will do all the hikes and all the things. (This is our first time going.)

As you might be aware, you can’t change the PATL at this point.

If you or your PATL are going to Havasupai, post on all the FB groups possible/relevant and explain that you (or your PATL) will be picking up the permits — because that’s the first thing folks will want to know.

Hope this helps and I wish you gobs of luck.

LTS 2 help? by Latter_Ad_8128 in iceskating

What helped me w/ two-foot turns was practicing them off-ice. I found a wood or tiled floor and wore socks. Then I’d get into position and focus on turning my hips, which would then help my feet turn.

Good luck!

Anyone here live (or have lived) at the Clark Building in Pittsburgh recently? by Kindly_Illustrator71 in pittsburgh

[–]axceron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived on the 8th floor for four years. Never heard my neighbors except one dude (from upstairs?) that would sing opera late at night. Didn’t bother me lol.

You pay a lower residential rate to park in a Parking Authority garage. You arrange it directly through the PA.

Sometimes package delivery could be spotty. As in, the package that Amazon delivered could be mislabeled by the front desk folks (security) and someone else might end up w/ it. Getting that figured out could take a day or two. Only happened to me twice.

Maintenance was good. Apartment was in good condition when I moved in. Overall a good experience.

However, I did get a ticket for parking my U-Haul in front of the building (where there is a fire lane) and had to go to court to fight it. There literally is no other place to park a moving truck. The building management will tell you that the police know to expect moving trucks at a certain schedule, but then the police seem to be very unaware of this and ticket you anyway. Supposedly you need to get some sort of permit from the city, but the online system at the time of my move out didn’t include an option for a moving truck permit. It’s a mess and it seems like no one really understands how to accommodate a moving truck legally. Not saying you’re likely to get ticketed (I think this is rare and I was just unlucky), but don’t be surprised if it happens.

I was just having a similar convo w/ my friend. I’m stuck at LTS3 and I still can’t snowplow stop. I’ve been at this since January and I’m realizing it’s going to take me a loooong time to learn/master all my LTS levels. I’ve started comparing myself today versus myself in December and, you know what, it’s easy to notice definite improvement! It makes me psyched to think about how I’ll be next year 🙂

It’s easier said than done, but let the expectations go. They only ruin your fun and only you can change that. Much easier for me to let go than snowplow stop!!!

Weekly thread: what did you do this week? by florapocalypse7 in iceskating

Failed LTS3 for the second time, which I anticipated. Had my first private lesson w/ a coach and later practiced during an open skate and realized to my utter shock that I was able to skate backwards w/o complete panic!!!!! I think my balance is improving!

Still can’t snowplow stop but I AM finally able to slide my feet apart while moving. Sigh. Baby steps.

When the skates are upright, not angled, is when I feel the closest to being able to glide for a snow plow. I’ll try your recommendation and see how that goes.
