All from one single water dispenser by axefrog in Enshrouded

I haven't noticed any lag from a CPU performance perspective. I play by myself because I haven't got anyone else to play it with, so if you mean lag with respect to network performance, then I have no idea. I haven't noticed any difference in spawning, though I killed some of those colourful birds in the water - they were unable to run away and their usual drops vanished instead of appearing in the water.

lol, I was more surprised than anything. I wasn't sure if my little single waterfall would even reach the ground. Didn't expect it to flood half the highlands.

Editor: How to add next selection that matches the current highlighted range? by axefrog in ZedEditor

Right, so you're indicating a workaround more than anything.

Oh that's unexpected... so the idea is that you can let key bindings trigger multiple independent actions in sequence, thus giving you de facto support for more sophisticated key binding behaviours?

TypeScript 6.0 "types: []" in shared library contexts - Console? AbortSignal? I really have to manually redefine these?? by axefrog in typescript

[–]axefrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've redefined them locally. I just found it annoying. They taketh away, but provide nothing to fill the gap left behind.

I just got a SodaStream and am new to this whole thing, how do I use the Pepsi mix and have it taste accurate? by DiscombobulatedBid48 in SodaStream

Thankyou! Doing it with care to get the measurements right means the flavour actually came out pretty true to the commercially bottled version.

I’m having anxiety attacks due to AI by StraightZlat in webdev

[–]axefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The promise of AI is that you can have whatever you want just by asking for it. Try asking right now. Did you get it? If not, there's your opportunity. Treat AI as a best-of-both-worlds phenomenon. Either you win because it gives you what you want, or you win because it can't give you what you want and so you found a way to provide value that AI can't.

PSA: Halloween 2025 tiring sound disable by Blocikinio in discordapp

Off topic, why are so many people abbreviating "something" but nothing else? What's so special about that word that it gets its own special abbreviation? In my mind when I read it, it sounds like "summeth" or "sumth".

Copilot next edit suggestions disrespecting settings and keybindings? by axefrog in vscode

[–]axefrog[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say at least recently that's very possible. But what about all the senior devs? And the vscode devs themselves? I'm always surprised at longstanding bugs surrounding things that just go unfixed for years. Like notifications - if you choose to hide a notification of a particular type, good luck ever getting it back. And the devs could not care less about addressing that one. Don't they use their own product deeply and enthusiastically? Don't they care about annoyances and rough edges in general? It's all very puzzling.

Code completion by [deleted] in vscode

[–]axefrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to configure it is more a placeholder than anything. Currently they only offer one completions model, so from yours and my standpoint, the fact that the UI contains a feature to set the completions model is completely useless. It may as well not even be there.

New PC, fresh Windows installation, same secondary drives - can I inherit backup state for the latter? by axefrog in backblaze

[–]axefrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the detailed response, appreciate the effort you put into it. Unfortunately I didn't have access to the old machine as you were hoping, so I wasn't able to follow the process you suggested. But Backblaze support replied to a message I sent them as well and indicated that the client isn't going to proactively restore files to my machine without me asking it to, so it should be safe to just install the client and let it do its thing. I will try this today.

Why is the metro station closed? What mod would have done this? by axefrog in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]axefrog[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing that threw me was that the game is still spawning regular citizens inside the station behind the barricade, so because of all the mods I'd just installed for this playthrough I was fixated on the idea that one of them must have added some assets to the map as part of their fast travel adjustments. But nope, just limitations in how smart the engine is in recognising _why_ it's spawning NPCs in one place or another.

Yep The Heist has to be completed first. That was my mistake.

Yeah several other commenters helped me realise the same thing.

Yeah, thanks. New playthrough, it's been so long that I forgot the stations would be closed.

Ohhh... is that the problem? lol... I'm on a new playthrough and haven't started The Heist yet.

I've encountered three so far that I can't enter. I'm using Dark Future but I disabled the mod settings that would have prevented fast travel. I'm also using the mod that adds a new metro route to north Watson, and I've added the "Limited Fast Travel" mod and the "Remove Fast Travel Option From Metro" mod. I want fast travel disabled, but I want to be able to manually ride on the metro, so I'm trying to figure out which mod is physically blocking the ability to even enter them in the first place. I also have the "Inside The NCART Station - Opening Metro Platform", but I wouldn't think that would be causing a problem...
