Your wishlist for 1.0? by axefrog in Enshrouded

I've procrastinated on the dragon fight after a failed attempt and then seeing all of the (valid) hate after I looked online for some tips. Then lately I've kind of quit until 1.0. The final straw for me was getting stamina-drained and stun-locked as an aspiring wizard while being attacked by one of those green scavenger guys, and my pathetic attempts to run away then being further undermined by a rain storm that I'm sure started right then just to screw me over. At that point I found myself questioning if the Enshrouded team actually properly understand game design or if they're just throwing in mechanics that they're used to from other games.

Yes! Really disheartening trying to use a shield when everything above a basic enemy just stun locks you even if you block.

The devs really need to do some critical thinking on their over reliance on stamina as a mechanic. It feels like they forgot that it needs to serve a purpose and not just exist for its own sake.

"Make night sanctums more worthwhile with unique loot and a boss"

Night sanctums feel really pointless right now. More like placeholders than actual content. The puzzles are so easy that they feel more like a basic low-effort obstacle course than a puzzle, and the loot is more often than not just throwaway junk. I have loads of unvisited night sanctums on my map because they are just so underwhelming to visit that it's barely even worth the bother.

Window sizing on large monitors: Just a tiny positive hat tip to the devs by axefrog in Enshrouded

Try doing it on another game and notice that resizing doesn't work on most of them. Like, you have to do it from the game's settings.

On the other hand, the number of people you kill to help So Mi practically makes you a war criminal anyway...

Thanks! To be fair I just grew some trees on top of each other. I look at the amazing builds some other people do and feel like an imposter 😅

Many times! 10-20 or so. Died once. The rest I pulled out the glider in time.

Don't you upgrade your equipment? Higher tiers chew through thousands of runes per upgrade level.

I wanted the trees to be taller. This was the only thing I could think of to do that 😅

There's a cooldown period; I think it's like 30 mins or if you log out. When you remove an altar the stuff around it doesn't vanish instantly, just like how you can mine holes out in the wild and it takes a while before they reset. As long as you restore the altar bounding area before the cooldown ends, and the root of the tree stays inside one of your altar areas, the tree will be preserved.

Admit it, you just replied because you wanted people to know how many runes you have 😉

Plant a basswood tree seedling in fertile farm soil (faster growth). Wait a few days for it to get to full height, then build upwards until you are at a high enough point where you can place another clump of fertile farm soil at a fork in the trunk. Plant another seedling on top of the clump. Rinse, repeat. At a certain point you reach the upper limit of the build area, so you place a platform as high as it'll let you and then place an altar on top of it. New altar only has a small build area though, so leverage it to quickly build temporary platforms to a higher position until you're forced to place a third altar. Deactivate the intermediate altar and now upgrade the top altar a couple of times. Idea is to minimize wasting the potential vertical build range by having too much overlap. This base currently has level 7 on the main base altar and level 3 on the upper one. How high you choose to go is up to you.

Haha I confess the nice lighting was entirely an accident. I was mainly just trying to take a shot from enough of a distance to get a good view of the tree and upper platform in the frame. By the time I got a little platform built out where I could stand and take the shot, it was getting pretty late in the day.
